Laughter
spadeguy (2015-06-28 03:15:32)I feel like if I ever got high, this is what I'd say.
I should probably write a new story... but will I finish it?
Anyway, I'm Aaron

"I love your eyes...but only with ketchup."
MagmaTheSequel (2015-07-17 03:32:46)The last part made no sense. It's as if you said "laughter" only after you said "slaughter."

You know what's interesting? The way an innocent word can be changed into something dreadful by changing, adding or subtracting one mere letter. For instance, if you lead someone to a laughter house, you have the basis for a lighthearted tale of your time at an amusement park. Adding an 's' to have it read 'slaughterhouse,' however, changes the meaning entirely.
Or even, with an opposite scenario, how tragic it could be. Like how you were around when Billy mysteriously disappeared. Oh, you remember, how you heard his scream, the knife plunging into him. And since the policeman kept using the grisly word 'slaughter' to describe the scene you claim to have heard, you write on the police report, 'The sound of Billys slaughter was the last sound I remember hearing.'
But here we are, with one person in the area at the time of the crime. The killer or kidnapper is still at large, according to your written testament. And really, you're the only suspect on this case. And the fact that the ssuspicious-looking officer seemed to have taken a letter away before making copies of your report surely isn't helping.
'The sound of Billys laughter was the last sound I remember hearing' seems pretty incriminating. Especially since you're the closest person to a 'witness' in this case. You claim the killer is still out there. But the officer in charge of your paperwork is coming down to your cell now. Maybe he can listen? But you hear something coming from his mobile. The sound of Billys laughter, on loop. And you realise that your slaughter will be next on his playlist.
Your death is reported: suicide in cell, likely from guilt over kidnapping. But you and Billy know the truth. It was laughter, in cold blood. And the killer is still out there. Billy's not laughing anymore. Never again. And now, neither are you.
