Smashsonic123 (2014-09-14 09:09:20)I agree with this, but there are a few things I want to say. First. A big problem is that it is hard to do left and right Smash Attack. When I wanna pull it off I always do a dash attack. Second. I think Villager is fun, but that's my opinion. Thirdly. I wish Kirby was also playable. But, this is a demo. So It's ok.

[bold]Shrek needs to be in Smash bros and FNaF.[/bold]
SackThing101 (2014-09-14 17:06:46)I'm just gonna put my opinions here:
Mario - He plays like Project M Mario
Link - Freaking awesome beast. He needed that buff.
Pikachu - I don't play as Pikachu much in any SSB games/mods, but he's pretty good.
Mega Man - Combo master. #Megaman4nerf
Villager - He's very good after using him for awhile. Almost Mega Man good.
And as far as the controls go, they really suck. I usually used the smash stick on my Classic Controller in Brawl/P:M and just use the traditional way in Melee, but I'd always take advantage of Melee's mechanism when doing the traditional way, so it was kinda weird playing it, but I did do an awesome combo with Mario.
And I don't like the fact they nerfed chain grabs and ledge hogging. Though, this is coming from a competive player...
Oh yeah, and you can press "X" to turn on FD mode with no items.
carlos11 (2014-09-14 17:57:52)Dude, I had a dream I was playing smash. That's how bad I want that demo.

Ron1212 (2014-09-15 00:29:20)It's a cool demo, can't wait to play it with my friends tomorrow.

carlos11 (2014-09-15 03:02:03)I'll admit that I was out of line, but it's all behind me now. I got the demo, thanks to a special someone, and it's still a week before everyone else gets it. Give me a break, Kingnipple. This is SMASH, for god's sake. You have no idea what it does to people.
Anyway, I really like Pikachu. I thought I'd be a Link guy, but he felt a little heavy and hard to control with the circle pad. Pikachu's side smash is crazy powerful. Feels awesome to hit everyone with it.

SackThing101 (2014-09-15 05:31:43)Speaking of SSB4 dreams, I did have a dream of me playing SSB4 a month before the demo release. I was red Mega Man vs. Mario and I won. Same thing happened in the demo.
spadeguy (2014-09-16 00:31:08)Smash changes people. I can vouch for that...
I should probably write a new story... but will I finish it?

little5 (2014-09-17 00:55:39)I had a dream about me downloading Alpha Sapphire for 2 hours, and right when it's about to finish downloading, there was an error.
carlos11 (2014-09-17 03:24:34)^That means someone sniped the code you were going to use.

Yes! Thank God I got a code from Google+! So now that I played it for more than 10 hours, I'll give my opinion to it. I'll make a mini review of the game before I can make a review of the full game. So let's get started!
CONTENT
The first thing we look in a demo is the amount of content and things we can do. For Smash, it has decent amount of content.
When booting up the game, you'll only have 2 options: Smash, and the Vault.
Vault: You can't do anything on it, but you can only read tips. Yay? Nothing special if you're a hardcore Smash player, but it give you hints on the new stages and what to expect.
Smash: This is the main event! Smash! You can only select 5 characters: Mario, Link, Pikachu, Mega Man, and the Villager. Each character has 4 costumes to choose. Then, you can only play on 1 stage, and that is Battlefield.
The rules are simple and standard for most Smash games. Only a 2 minute battle. Player with most KOs wins. Simple enough. Items do appear, but that's not every item in the full game, but you do have a good handful of items to use: Boomerang, Tanooki Leaf, Daybreak, Cocoos, Bee Hives, Bullet Bill, Poke Balls, Master Balls, Smash Ball, etc. and Assist Trophies.
Speaking about Assist Trophies, there is also a great handful of characters: Dark Samus, Mother Brain, Electro Man, Isabella, Andross, and my personal favorite, Pong. There are others I didn't mention, but the list is pretty big.
And for those who like to play competitively, you can play the stage in its Alpha form. It's basically playing the Final Destination version of the stage.
Fox only.No items. Final Destination. The time limit still applies. And finally, the demo does offer local multiplayer with those who also have the demo. So play with up to 4 player action!
So overall, pretty good amount of content for a demo.
VISUALS
The graphics are amazing! Looks a lot like Melee, but not as detailed. Still looks amazing. Colors are bright and crisp. The frame rate is also amazing. 60fps for gameplay while the assist characters run at 30fps so gameplay doesn't lag.
The 3D visuals are also amazing. Still maintains the frame rate, but makes the battle look even more detailed. Every model of game looks detailed, distance between the foreground, midground, and background looks detailed and smooth.
Overall, amazing visuals.
GAMEPLAY
This has been debated for years, and now I can finally say something about it!
The controls are awkward. As a Smash player since Melee, it does feel awkward to change from GameCube to 3DS, but that didn't stop me to play it, unlike most people. I kept playing. After a curtain time, you do get used to it and it feels smooth and handy. In the demo, you cannot change the controls, so that's a bummer to me since I honestly didn't like the grab and shield controls. But thank God for custom controls in the full game.
And most people say this game is Brawl 2.0? I can finally say that it's not. The game is more fast paced than Brawl, but not as fast as Melee. It feels more like in between, it's not too fast, but not too slow either. So it's a unique pace mechanic than any Smash game.
Now for the characters:
Mario: Same moves as in Brawl, but he's a bit faster.
Link: Same moves as in Brawl, but much faster and little bit stronger.
Pikachu: Same as in Brawl. Speed remains the same.
Mega Man: He's awkward at first, but you do get used to him and become better as him. He's pretty quick, but can be slow depends on attacks.
Villager: I just suck as him. He's too random and unusual for me. But he is pretty fast, but like Mega Man, he can be slow depending on attacks.
Overall, gameplay is improved and fun as past Smash games!
SOUND
Sound is amazing as well! Great voices for characters, unique sound effects, and overall great sounds!
Music is also amazing and very memorable as past Smash games. Very catchy tunes, great orchestrated music, and great sound quality!
Overall, great sound!
REPLAY
Replay is very high. You can still do a lot of things, even if you have little characters to play as and 1 stage to play on. You can practice, play with friends, explore the new items and Assist Trophies, learn to use the new characters, or whatever you feel like.
If you're getting the demo this September 19th, you'll only have 30 uses, so use them wisely because it'll make you play even more!
CONCLUSION
Overall, great demo, great amount of content for a demo, high replay value, amazing sounds, and overall, amazing!
+Great content
+High replay
+Amazing music
-Forced controls
SCORE
9.0/10
Thanks for reading. Hope you guys enjoyed this review and hopefully try out the demo!
