This story is a story taken out of order, after reading all the chapters, everything will make sense, just know, that the chapters might change depending on how I take the story. I suggest you read the prolouge first, as it's the entire premise of the story.
"Stop!" A voice yelled, the voice sounded nothing like a human's, but it was definitely not from the machine. However, as the mysterious warrior ran its fist through the machine's face and sent it flying throughout the city, we found our answer. People began clapping as they walked back outside. However, the figure stood and was less than pleased. To describe this figure would be like describing the darkness, disturbing. The following speech is what changed the world forever. "Cease your clapping" And everyone did. "For I am not your friend, but at the same time I am not your enemy. No, simply think of me as the end. I have watched, from the invention of the wheel to the lightbulb, you humans have advanced in technology for a long time. However, there is a point where all must end, before the sun dies, before the truth of life is revealed. For none of that may happen so long as your race keeps advancing. Answer me this, why, in order to advance technology, must you abandon the natural way of life? This, I will never understand, it is unfortunate it has to be this way. You have ten years humans, not to prepare, but to live, use them as you wish." He then vanished, leaving wind to flow around him. The entire Earth was silent.
The homeless were brought in by others and people who did go outside and weren't caught said that the world had never seemed so alone. Some even began sobbing at the sight.
"Feels like a
Daniel approached the man and saw that he was clearly homeless. "You got a place to stay sir?" The man opened his eyes and slowly made his way to his feet. "No, been staying here for a few months now."
"You are aware that you'll have to be taken in if you aren't in a house right?"
"Nah, I'm fine with where I am now."
"I'm sorry but you have to be in a house of some sort sir." The man finally let him help him out. Giving the man a place to stay, however, proved to be quite difficult. After going to seven houses, one finally said yes. It was a middle aged man who lived alone that accepted him.
"Damn, what took you so long?" Jacobs said as he smoked the last of his cigarette. "I was helping this homeless guy find a home." Jacobs sighed
"When do you think this
"Don't know, things seemed to have cooled down now, so maybe soon."
"Sure hope so"
