It's the 3DS version of a series the Nintendo fanbase talk about all the time inbetween announcement and release. And by that I mean people begging for Ridley on Smashboards and Miiverse.

First off, I'm going to talk about why Mewtwo and Ridley should be playable the gameplay. It is much faster than Brawl, it isn't as fast as 64 or Melee though. There aren't many (discovered) exploits people call techniques like quickscoping wavedashing. You won't find any of that stuff. Several of the newcomers, like Little Mac and Shrek Rosalina & Luma, have their own cool mechanics people keep calling overpowered even though a crappy player like me can beat them. There are also some new playstyles, like Little Mac's amazing ground game but crap air game and Shulk has about five playstyles with them Monado arts.
Every newcomer (except Dark Pit and Lucina) feels unique. The stages are mostly small. It is understandable because of the 3DS's small screen. There are a lot of annoying stage hazards, which can be a pain and even ruins some stages. *cough* those flying men *cough*. My favourite new stage is Mute City.

I'm going to talk more about the roster. it ing sux bcuz no meyou2 er rildey Almost every newcomer deserved the slot (I said almost because Dark Pit and Rosalina & Luma aren't exactly Nintendo "all-stars". Duck Hunt Duo (who are actually a trio, despite the third member being unseen) are who I want to talk about. They're my new main. They're based on the Zapper arcade and NES games (Hogan's Ally, Duck Hunt & Wild Gunman). They basically camp all day with their cowboys, frisbees and cans. Their Smash attacks have good range and one of their aerials is a meteor smash. And the final smash. It's so good. Best thing reskinned from Captain Falcon ever (sorry Ganondorf).

I could speak about all the newcomers in detail, but I don't have that
time, so here:
Little Mac: The Garchomp of Smash Bros.
Dark Pit: Gotta love how Sakurai didn't add Wolf in Melee because he thought Wolf would look like a grey Fox recolour.
Lucina: She looks like that little girl's little sister, despite being a decendant.
Robin: The first FE character in Smash that doesn't share atleast one move with that little girl.
Greninja: Pokemon X/Y advert.
Wii Fit Trainer: Wait, WHA-
Bowser Jr: Kind of relevant and iconic I guess.
Rosalina & Luma: Those characters that apparently belong in Smash Bros despite appearing in three of the worst selling 3D Mario games (she had a minor role in two of them) and a few spin-offs.
Palutena: A support character.
Shulk: I'M REALLY FEELING IT!
Villager: I thought you said you wouldn't add any AC characters because they're too cute.
Megaman: Rise of the dead
Pac-Man: Basically the Duck Hunt Duo of Namco games.

Now let's get to the features.
There is a Classic mode and All-Star mode and a new mode called Smash Run which is basically City Trial and has modes we thought were cut like Stanima and Target smash inside. The other modes are basically what you'd expect out of an iPhone game with Smash gameplay. The camera isn't as good as Brawl's I really wanted to explore Peach's model but the music is amazing (specifically Star Wolf's theme and the Unova trio themes. They always make up for not reprsenting a Pokemon generation in Smash by making the remixes so good *cough*VICTORY ROAD*cough*). The online has been improved but if one of the players has a bad connection at times it can be unplayable.

+The modes are pretty fun
-Costum moves are so damn hard to unlock. You mostly get equipment. It takes SO LONG to get all the costum moves for one character.

This game stopped being about "Nintendo all-stars" once Ness was introduced. Basically, IT HAS NEVER BEEN ABOUT NINTENDO ALL-STARS. Plus, Rosalina is a very popular and recognizable Mario character. Sure, she is not at Mario's level, but plenty of children and adults know her and like her. Now look at Xenoblade. Tell me, how many people knew who Shulk was before Smash? Not many. Sure, he was popular among the fans of Xenoblade, but he's never been a very recognizable character. Also, third-party characters completely kill your argument.

Personally, I'm glad Mewtwo got cut. He was just another stupid, "edgy" Pokemon. We need more cute Pokemon, WHO AREN'T EEVEE OR IT'S EVOLUTIONS.

Also, the Galaxy games had bad sales. LOL. Shut up, Bean. I'm growing tired of your laughable attempts at downplaying Rosalina's inclusion.

^ Ness didn't deserve to be in Smash that much, as much as I hate to say it. He appeared in one game that sold really, really badly outside of Japan. SSB64 never was supposed to release outside of Japan though.
Shulk was highly requested and Xenoblade sold a decent amount of copies worldwide.

And arrows for the character select screen. They'd have to be unlocked by Amiibo though. Releasing them as DLC then releasing their Amiibos would be a rip-off.
