In case you still have your copy of the latest iteration in the Pokemon main series games, and you live in the US, you may be interested in what I have to say.

Alright, let's cut to the chase. Starting tomorrow, October 13th, you will be able to pick up a Shiny Gengar at participating Gamestop stores. This event will be running until the 26th.
Then, on the 27th of October, you'll be able to get Diancie.

I'd like to add that there has been some talk about this method of distribution, and I'm not talking about praise. Fans seem to be angry at Nintendo for not making use of the Mystery Gift's wifi capabilities. It seems that some people don't want to take the time to get out of their mothers' basements and meet some fellow Pokemon fans at a store that is giving you a GIFT.
So here's my input on this: There's a reason these particular events were not made available over wifi. It's simple, it's too easy. That's it.
The feasibility of obtaining Event Pokemon is strongly correlated to the amount of them in circulation, which in turn determines the value of aforementioned Pokemon. There is a positive association between the two variables, meaning that as it becomes easier to acquire a Pokemon such as Diancie, more people will have said Pokemon in their possession, and again, this makes the Pokemon worth less. Not that Pokemon have monetary value (as far as I'm concerned), but it just doesn't feel as good too have something that everyone else than it does to have something relatively fewer people have. That being said, making people jump through hoops in order to get something is not always bad. In this case, it keeps the casuals away. This shouldn't upset people. If you hate Gamestop though, then we're getting somewhere. That's a legitimate reason to be pissed off.



Also, if you don't live in the US, do not be discouraged, this events will be coming your way too. Europe is getting it, Canada is getting it. The reason I didn't include them here is because I don't know all the details.

My local Gamstop is 15 minutes away, on foot.

It may seem like a lot, but I don't really mind.
