Tale of Mage
spadeguy (2014-01-13 21:08:22)Lack of general willpower... I can transfer Valiant to this story if you'd like.
I should probably write a new story... but will I finish it?

spadeguy (2014-01-14 02:48:26)We began walking through the school in search for the auditorium. I turned to Drake and nodded, signaling that the operation was underway...
"You know, all the other guild members are done with their presentations." Drake said, "I'm pretty sure they've been overdue. Lets just go to the auditorium, and get this over with."
"Whatever." I sneered, "Just try not to get caught."
"WHAT DO YOU THINK WE'RE HERE FOR?!" Drake shouted.
[5 minutes later]
The auditorium was a large room with a stone floor. Floating bleachers were hovering and students watched Drake and I argue.
"THIS IS FOR BLOWING COVER!!!!" I shouted,
BASIC AURA
I sprinted towards Drake, leaped, and pointed my fist at him. A yellow beam of light shot from my hand. Drake cartwheeled out of the way and pulled out his sword.
The students in the auditorium roared with happiness.
"Hey," Drake shouted over the cheer of the audience, "I haven't fought you in a while... this should be fun."
I smiled and pounded my fists together, making the yellow light cover both of my hands, then a pulse of yellow light surged through my body. "Yeah! I think I'll get physical this time."
I clenched my fists and the yellow light began to glow brighter, and Drake pointed his sword at me. It glew, and began glowing. When it stopped, it was clear... and dripping...
"BLADE OF EXACLIBU
We dashed at each other and he got the first strike in, hitting me in the face with his sword. I gagged, then felt a swift kick at my chest. My shoes left skid marks on the ground as I slid feet back. I returned the attack by sprinting at him and punching his chest. Slid back too, but I wasn't done. I continued the sprint and uppercut him into the air. Drake regained his composure in midair and swung his sword at me, causing it to rain shards of ice. I couldn't dodge them and barely stood after the attack. He landed with a roll and ran at me, tossing his sword into the air and attempting to punch me. I dodged, but the sword came back and he caught it then immediately slashed at my back. I ignored the pain and began a flurry of punches and kicks, but his water-sword split into two and I began recieving hits too.
"EXCALIBUR BREAK THE SECOND SEAL"
He jumped back, and all the surrounding water began rushing back into what was now two sword handles. I attempted to attack him, but he dodged all my punches. Then Drake tossed both parts of Excalibur combined back into one. Suddenly it began glowing as an arcane inscription glowed in a blue pattern. Drake pulled off his robe, revealing his usual outfit, jeans and lack of shirt. He was actually fit, and had a spade mark on his chest above his heart. The veins in his forearms were glowing a fierce light blue, as were his eyes.
Now the real fight began.
I began to shout,
"YOU BROKE THE SEAL, SO I CAST-"
I was slashed in the shoulder by a precise blue streak of destruction magic hit my shoulder. The crowd grew louder with excitement.
"Sorry Aaron... but you'll have to try harder than that." Drake said calmly. He let go of Excalibur and it remained floating in the air. Then it pointed directly at me and soared through the air. I dived to the left to dodge, and was elbowed down. I held my arms out to prevent my torso from hitting the ground, got up, and staggered back. Drake walked torwards me and held his hand out. Excalibur teleported into his palm and he clenched it.
"Aaron... you really should know that I've finally broken and resealed another tier of this sword. I may not be able to cast unknown magic like you, but I can definitely use Excalibur to it's greatest potential yet... that is why it selected me. Now... I'll finish this... EXCALI-... you mentally cast it didn't you? Crap..." His eyes stopped glowing as well as his forearms.
I stopped staggering.
[greed]...green...[/green]
Suddenly the crowd stopped cheering. Wind blew furiously and the stone ground beneath me began to crack as grass and vines penetrated the surface. The wind began to lift me off of the ground and I hovered towards Drake, with the vines slithering along the ground in my path.
I stared at Drake and pointed. Vines shot at him, but he cut them with his sword. I zoomed through the air and launched a punch, but air enveloped my fist and only launched him back. I raised my arms and vines sprung through the rock and wrapped around his arms and legs, then pulled him onto the, now cracked, stone floor. As he lay there defeated, the student audience cheered.
I powered down, and he got up to shake my hand.
Me: Hey Drake...
Drake: Yes?
Me: What does this teach the kids anyway?
Drake: ...let's just leave before they tell us to fix the floor.
He held out his hand and Excalibur's sheathe teleported to his hand. He strapped it across his chest, and we ran away. Since our guild didn't have a teleportation stone, we'd have to walk... crap!
I should probably write a new story... but will I finish it?

Green
As I took my hand off of the chrystal, it continued to glow green. I felt a familiar warmth as my mother ran forwards and hugged me.
"Please... be strong..."
Tears began rushing down my face. My father placed his hand on my shoulder and smiled, before whispering in my ear.
"Only moonlight gives rest to the dead. It'll be okay Aaron..."
My surroundings went black, and soon they were all that was left... but they were fading away. His words echoed in the darkness, and as they faded, so did my mother and him. The warmth where my mother had held me turned into grueling cold. The sound of his words were replaced by just my name...
"Aaron... Aaron... AARON!"
*SMACK*
"Ouch!" I said, "What was that for?!"
"Hurry and get ready! We're late for school!"
Drake was a young wizard of about 16, who broke the Dark Seal, releasing Excalibur, and in turn became its owner... but maybe I'll tell that story some other time... maybe...
Minutes later we headed off in our school robes covering our guild signs.
We went into town to find an availabe transportation shrine. Past houses of stone and streets of brick, we
arguedtalked about our most recent guild mission taken over the weekend."Hey! At least I didn't destroy the 3 walls, you should try and hold back more!" I said to Drake, who held up 2 fingers with his left hand.
"Two, Aaron. You destroyed two buildings. You could have seriously hurt someone."
We both laughed.
After about 12 minutes of chat, we arrived at the transportation dock. It was more of a field with many circular stone platforms hovering feet above the ground. After a long argument over which stone to choose, I pointed to one.
"Hey! Mr.Stone-guy! Can you take us to school? Saint Voltaire!"
The stone platform I pointed at floated towards us, then hovered above us. A large blue light shined, then enveloped us. I shut my eyes and seconds later I was under a floating stone outside of school,
Saint Voltaire.
Saint Voltaire could be considered a castle, as it has many watchtowers with photo-anima, glowing orbs of non-physical anima, floating in the air. The inside had many, many more magic castle stereotypes like empty hulls of armor that patrolled the hallways, and ghosts of people who died horribly. I would probably be mesmerized...
...if we didn't have a job to do...
