ShayAtmos (2013-12-26 23:30:44)Lots of confusion, I AM a guy.
spadeguy (2013-12-26 23:35:56)It is completely avoidable, but that doesn't mean everyone has the mental capability to understand and act on that logic. You're mostly correct though...
I should probably write a new story... but will I finish it?

little5 (2013-12-27 11:25:47)You're late, but I do agree with this. Our counselor came to our class and I asked him "Why does cyber-bullying exist, it's completely avoidable? They don't even know you, they don't know how you look.."
then he responded "Do you want anyone picking on you?"
So yah.. Idk
ConnorRonnoc (2013-12-27 11:35:10)In a way I guess Cyber-bullying is your fault, it's common knowledge that you shouldn't put "selfies" on the internet, anyone could use that picture against you, or even use it to pretend to be you.

You worded this pretty well. I agree 100%
Also, if I may add, it only take common sense to realize that by joining the Internet in the first place, you are allowing yourself to be visible in a place where people can say whatever they want while being completely anonymous, which means that there WILL inevitably be people who like to troll others around them for their own amusement.
If people don't realize this while being on the Internet and blindly assume people are going to act just as kind as you want them to, then you lack the maturity to be on the Internet in the first place.
espace39 (2013-12-27 15:57:08)It can get to a certain extent where it should be dealt with via legal action. Typing "lol ur a faget go drink bl33ch and become an hero" isn't bullying. But if you went all out online to ruin someone's social life online and/or offline to the point where they have nothing is bullying and should be dealt with.

Ron1212 (2013-12-27 19:59:52)This is true only to a certain extent. I mean, it's possible a bully could tell and spread hurtful lies (or even truths) across the Internet about you. That's considered as cyber-bullying too.

The only thing I would consider a death threat that is "serious" would be having an anonymous person tell you that they know where you live, and give your address as proof then saying that they will come and kill you.
Threatning to give someone's address to random Internet strangers could also be a serious threat.
I believe this thread was primarily inspired by and written for the thin-skinned users on this site as well as countless others who have absolutely no connection to their "assaulters".....Bullying someone you know in real life through the internet (which would bring the assumption that you bully that person physically, too) is still bullying, just through the use of virtual media too; so I don't think it's worth giving it it's own title of "cyberbullying".
"Cyber-bullying" refers to any time someone mentions rude or negative remarks towards another person through virtual media....There is such a thing as "trolls" and legitimately rude people, and are mis-titled as cyber "bullies". Although mean and/or negative comments can hurt, as the original post to this thread states it is completely avoidable on the internet.
3DLuigiMario (2014-01-01 09:22:14)Sometimes Cyberbullying can't be avoided though. But sometimes it can. I still believe all who cyberbully are sinning.

little5 (2014-01-01 10:33:38)This one girl committed suicicde because she was bullied for a week. She'd never been bullied, and it wasn't even physical, it was mental. Anyways, a week of bullying is nothing to compare to years of physical and emotional bullying as a young child, ._.
