It's really worth it. I'll recommend to get the 3DS XL.

Best feature in my opinion is the eShop. Tons of great downloadable games, Virtual Console, and DSiWare.

Least favorite is Face Raiders (built in game). It's fun at first, but when you beat it, it's boring now.

3DS has also ton of upcoming games like Animal Crossing: New Leaf, Project X Zone, Super Smash Bros, Link to the Past 2, and many more!

eShop is meh, and most of the built in software is pretty lame, but the system has a rich library of games and I'd strongly recommend it.

I would look into

Monster Hunter 3 Ultimate
Kid Icarus Uprising
Mario Kart 7
Super Mario 3D Land
Dead or Alive Dimensions
Legend of Zelda Ocarina of Time 3D
Resident Evil Revelations
Fire Emblem Awakening

And future releases such as

Pokemon X & Y
Animal Crossing: New Leaf

Monster Hunter 4

Favorite features: Graphics are decent for a handheld, tons of great games, circle pad is nice

Things that bug me: Most games have poor online, low resolution, crappy multimedia features

Are the screens too small?

Not unless you play it right next to a Vita.

The 3DS is the best handheld on market. It's not to expensive, which is great for families. It has a wide variety of games for true gamers. Most of the games have an excellent and thoughtful story told in them, and there is always a game for someone to enjoy. The 3DS is probably the best gaming system investment you will have for years to come.

Yes. Get one as soon as possible. I have sold my 3DS before, but I am planning on getting another in September
