Screamer (2012-12-16 21:11:24)His mother should've noticed that he was troubled. She could have sent him to therapy.

spadeguy (2012-12-17 00:39:49)What could have possibly happened to cloud his judgement that much! He was probably a pretty cool guy.
I should probably write a new story... but will I finish it?

HanShotFirst (2012-12-17 01:55:38)Videogames do have an effect on a person's psychological state and their actions. For anyone that says there isn't, try doing some research.
However, before you all go moaning about how I'm wrong, I'd like to point out that they wouldn't have effected his judgement to such an extent. More than likely, it was simply an influence, just another domino is the chain. They won't link it to GTA or videogames, but rather his own psychosis, due to the extremity of the crime.
Even if Videogames become the target of scrutiny, they will always be safeguarded because they fall under the 1st Amendment in the U.S. constitution.
This irks me however, as GTA was a direct influence to the horrid crime. Now the game developers get to churn out more of that corrupting crap and more and more crimes will form due to the negative influence.

HanShotFirst (2012-12-17 02:03:15)It isn't possible. They attempted it before back in the days of "San Andreas" because of the hidden sex scenes in the game. Rocksteady removed the content on all further releases, but it can still be accessed by Pre-recall copies and some free time.

spadeguy (2012-12-17 02:10:49)I don't think that the videogames got him to consciously consider it. Yet I believe that they more than likely incepted the idea into his head. (Like subliminal advertisement. The videogame GTA made him think that the idea was his own, when really it influenced him subconsciously.)

HanShotFirst (2012-12-17 02:20:56)ViedoGames, like movies, books, and art, never make a person consciously consider things, unless that was the purpose intended by the creator. (Therefore, the work is described as "Thought Provoking"
The games influenced his mental state by implanting thoughts of violence, which he probably wouldn't have had otherwise. Considering how fragmented his psyche must have been, anything small could've influenced his emotions to extremes.
So was GTA responsible? Yes.
Is the blame all on GTA? No. The effects it had on him caused the situation to plsy out as it did, but something equally violent (AKA: S.A.W. movies, other violent titles such as COD, ect.) would've had the exact same effect.
^ That the point you were getting across? @spadeguy

HanShotFirst (2012-12-21 00:15:06)They do cause these things to happen. A scapegoat is something that takes the blame for something else. While other factors did play a role, GTA was definitely one of them.

Ron1212 (2012-12-21 00:54:30)I think people should shut up about all this cr@p. The guy killed children, period. We don't need to go into a full discussion. Any news I see now is just "Sandy Hook killer blah blah blah" or "Reason for murder at Sandy Hook blah blah blah". It's getting annoying.
