A little while ago Nintendo had 3 types of 3DS's made.1000 of each one.A Mario themed 3DS, a Toad themed 3DS, and a Peach themed 3DS. They were divided between 3 countries/ Continents (Australia, Europe, and Japan) and there was a contest in those countries for those 3DS's. But why no North American contest? Why did they not have this contest for Mexico/Canada/US? Or the bigger question is, will there be a separate contest with different franchises character's for NA? We will might never know why this contest wasn't also in NA but there is still hope another could be held for NA.
here is a picture of the 3 3DS Systems.

These sell for between $750.00-$6000.00 on eBay and if your NA and you buy one you wouldn't be able to charge it because of the different plugs.

There was a reason why, but its been since last year I can't remember. There's an article on ign about it but you'll have to dig in the archives. Or the better way Google it
