Okay, everyone is freaking out about this game. I'll admit the name New Super Mario Bros 2 really makes it sound awesome, I mean a sequel to two of the best selling games in recent memory? But seriously, this game does not deserve your money. Nintendo put very little effort into this, they essentially took the last games and gave them a coat of gold paint. This was churned out in less than a year. Buy this, and you are neglecting games which cost more money, time, and energy to make.

Resident Evil Revelations

This game took about two years to make and has the highest production values on 3DS. Capcom put tons of effort into this, the graphics are just insane, it has online, a beefy campaign, it is a home console Resident Evil experience on the 3DS. Now tell me, why would you buy a lazy, yes lazy rehash over a true quality title like this?
NSMB 2 doesn't need your purchase, but Revelations has only sold around 500k, it needs your purchase a lot more.

Kid Icarus: Uprising

Took over three years to make, like Revelations has a beefy campaign and online. Pushed 3DS to the limit in every way. Most of you have it, but if you don't, well, don't even think about getting the rehash over this ORIGINAL game.

Dead or Alive Dimensions

A launch window game that has better graphics than a game that isn't even out. A launch window game that has online that a game that isn't even out doesn't.
A launch window game that has better physics than a game that isn't even out. Yep, a rushed launch window game has more effort put into it than the rehash.
You can also get it $10 cheaper.

Super Street Fighter IV 3D Edition

A launch game that looks better than the upcoming game. Has more content, has online, all around the more fleshed out game.

Before buying the rehash, I suggest you take a look at the games I listed, some of which are much cheaper. Try new things my friends, instead of buying the same old fat plumber. No matter what, do not buy it on the eshop, $40 is outrageous for a digital download such as this. Order Up!! was retail in Europe and in NA we got it as a download for $10.

As for the DLC, you can get Theatrhythm Final Fantasy, a far better game which has DLC right off the bat. For NSMB 2 you'll have to wait anyway. And Fire Emblem Awakening, another far better game, coming out next year, will also have DLC. And Marvel Pinball 3D, an 800 block download that has waaay better graphics than this retail release, also has a strong chance of DLC.

Seriously, those of you who hate me for this, name some new things in the game that doesn't involve gold and coins (Well, coins aren't even new.) It is New Super Mario Bros 2 after all.

More like: If it's 2D Mario, it sells. Nintendo put loads of effort into the Galaxy games and they sold nowhere near as good as New Super Mario Bros. I guess we can blame the fanboys and casuals who eat this stuff up. My own family (Casuals dur) are guilty of this.

SM3DL has hit nearly six million, it is one of the best selling 3D Marios. NSMB 2 will sadly do at least 15 million.

Star Fox 64 3D is actually the worst 3DS game in my collection. And I have good games.

On the other hand, I think I'm going with Pika. I'm better off just getting NSMBU.

Look guys, actually research the games I listed. Most are E-T, and seriously, don't knock them before doing some research on them.
Ben, making $ is no way to justify how lazy this is. They could have put real effort into it and still make $. Tell me why you would get this over the games I listed, yes I know you have hardly any 3rd party titles. Go on.

Capcom made Revelations, not Nintendo. This has nothing to do with losing money, it has to do with the amount of effort put into the game.
