You do realize that every offensive mon and it's mother in this meta is faster, and you don't get the Mega's speed stat on the turn you Mega, so you don't get to outpace anything capable of denting you before you let off an Eruption, and you're still outrun even if you do a +Speed Nature.

So then you have 2 effective attacking moves once you take any damage.

Sharpedo literally is better using Protect for the first turn as he has Speed Boost. After that, he gets the stat boosts that put him in a speed tier above M-Typhlosion while also having +1 speed. That combination together puts him directly ahead of everything not named 1+ Speed Boost Ninjask.

Eruption is just not good.

I'd rather use Theorymon Typlosion because he's not a one-off. After being hit, he wouldn't be locked into Eruption, so he could use other moves.

In a sense. Though seriously, at least pass it some speed boosts or have some Sticky Web support for that,

and someone diverting all the hits towards themselves like Se Jun Park's Pachirisu.

Oh don't bring that Pachirisu in this.

But you know what always diverts attacks? Garchomp. People can't stand those things. It's a good thing I use a Max HP one. He is unkillable tends to survive weak ice moves, such as ice shard, and also dragon type moves. People don't expect that.
