Hooray! Today is the monthly Fishing Tourney! Are you all excited? Everyone try to catch the largest fish you can possibly catch!


Have you never participated in a Fishing Tourney?

Never fear! I will tell you all the details of a Fishing Tourney. Just keep reading and you will find out more.

The Fishing Tourney happens once a month on Animal Crossing: New Leaf. If you go to the the event plaza, you will see a blue tent with a man standing beside it, named Chip.

If you talk to Chip, he will tell you what type of fish you have to catch and between what times. Once you think you have caught the biggest selected fish Chip wants, you must bring it to him to get this fish measured.

(He does eat it after you get it measured, so make sure it's definitely the one you want. You can catch more and give them to him, though.)

Then, after all that, he will tell you where you are on the leaderboard.

Oh, just to let you know, the times are normally between 9 AM and 6PM. and at 6PM, you must go inside the blue tent to see who have been crowned the top 3 biggest-fish-catchers. Try to win! /

Also, the day after the Fishing Tourney, the results will be posted on your notice board up by your local train station. This is especially if you forget the results or if you missed the tourney.

Don't have a fishing rod?

This is fine. You can get one from Chip or you can just get one from your local Main Street. Easy.

(Chip's fishing rods cost 500 bells. I'm not sure how much it costs in a shop though. It depends which type of shop in Main Street you have.)
