Superman (2013-11-09 05:21:33)I think eye colour might play a role in how well certain colours of the iris see in daylight based on how much light the iris lets in.

Superman (2013-11-09 05:30:01)Oh and here's a picture of my eye:
As you can see I have central heterochromia meaning my eyes are different colours. In this picture in my right eye which is brown in the middle and blue around the outside. My left eye (Not shown) is very light blue on the right side, very light green on he left and Brown around the middle as well. 2013-11-09 05:30:30

Mai (2013-11-09 05:53:48)Yes they do affect vision. My eyes are, A very light Silverish colour.
Superman (2013-11-09 15:58:58)Technically if you think about brown eyes sort act like the black face paint football players put under their eyes before a game to keep the sun out of their eyes because black/dark brown absorb most all wavelengths, so it would make sense that brown/dark brown eyes would have the same effect. This is all (according to evolutionary theories) why African people have eyes and dark skin, because the sun is more intense there, so higher levels of melanin (pigment) protects them form that.

Superman (2013-11-09 16:03:19)This maybe why blue eyes can also be traced back to Northern Europe (Finland, Norway, Sweden) because there is significantly less UV light there, so eyes with lots of pigment wouldn't be need. So if little pigment is produced, Blue eyes will be produced because the definition of blue eyes is a lack of pigment in the iris.

Superman (2013-11-09 16:04:25)So I think that maybe a person with blue eyes who lives in Africa would had substantially worse vision than. Those with brown ( during day at least)

little5 (2013-11-10 00:04:28)There are some blue eyed blacks.. Anyways, i'm black with brown eyes and 20/20 vision.. Yet I know this boy with dark forest green like eyes and he has a LOT of trouble seeing.
Funfact: Our hair is also more curly because you truly don't need long think hair in the hot sun..
Superman (2013-11-10 02:18:01)@tetrisdude my eyes are mainly blue with brown in them middle like I showed before. It looks green from far away though. Do you have a picture of your eyes? I'd love to see them!

Superman (2013-11-10 02:25:08)I always think I'm adopted because my parents eyes are both brown but my eyes are mainly blue. I need to hire a private investigator!

spadeguy (2013-11-10 14:50:47)Nothing useful to add. Every colorblind person I've ever seen have very light eye colors.
I should probably write a new story... but will I finish it?
Anyway, I'm Aaron

@Superman
I've heard that blue eyes are actually a mutation; so I suppose it could be possible that they're your real parents o.o

So I came across http://www.nytimes.com/2009/01/20/health/20real.html report the other day in the New York Times and I though it was an interesting topic.
So I want to know, what eye colour do you have and what do you think on this topic? Discuss in the comments (where else?)!
