DeathKid has a point. Education is one of the key pillars of civilization, just ending it would be catastrophic.

Though, school is rather dumb in the way it's being done. Instead of specialization towards each individual student's needs, it's generally "Toss 30 kids into a random room, promote the smart ones and leave the 'dumb' ones behind. I don't care if he actually knows the all of the material, he couldn't read this one book correctly so he'll just stay behind with the dumb ones."

That's the next problem.

Teachers don't want to be there or deal with the crazy students on a daily basis, thus effectively don't care whether or not people learn.

So, you have people unable to learn as quickly with teachers that don't bother teaching anything more than once or don't care who learns.

I think that this whole problem wouldn't have occured if we stuck with bows and arrows. (Obviously)

Anyway, my school system is still f'ed up, even in high school. I find myself constantly fighting the urge to hit older people. I'm going to have to soon, they're watching our lunch table.

-Annoying teachers
-Teachers who can't controll the kids
-Teachers who think they're above everyone else.

They make us learn so we aren't completely ignorant towards several subjects. I do agree that some things are useless in most jobs. I'm going to instruct free running. I need to know about anatomy, and physiology. Not much else, yet I stay in school. I don't want to be stupid.
