The egg. It hears things. Just liken chikens, they can hear and understand things that are being spoken. However unlike chickens, Dragons are much more inherently intelligent, so many dragons will often know their family members, holidays, and such. Many humans that had wanted a loyal dragon, often would take a young egg and hatch it. Such humans were usually caught, and dealt with. However this egg is a unque case, as it was abandoned soon after it was brought into the world. It is impossible to tell what effects it will have on the egg.

Also, Cold steam is frozen Carbon Dioxide. Warm steam is water. That may boil the egg unless the steamis under good control.

Loosening his position around the young girl, he continued. "My den is open to any strays in need of a place to stay."
