Anyways, sadly, I can't find your formula. Our book, (Mcdougal Littell Algebra 1) uses something else, not even a formula actually. I'll see if I can find anything else. I have the book on my lap.

A U B
A is the numbers that fall into the A category, as B includes that fall into that one. U is for numbers that fall into none of the categories. The upside down U I don't quite understand. One second...
