Okay, so today a review from Famitsu came out and it was about NSMB2. And they gave it a 36/40, which is really impressive. So maybe this game won't be so bland after all.

It's one review. CoD gets great reviews, guess it's the best game ever. Critics are swayed by popularity just as much as we are.

I've seen dozens of screenshots and few gameplay videos. Nothing I have seen has shown me that this isn't a cash grab. Even the interface is near identical to NSMB DS.
It also looks closer to NSMB DS than NSMB Wii, which is really, really, sad. At least NSMB U has nice looking backgrounds, this game's backgrounds are just blurred colors.
