Why we should rebuild plaza from the ground up

Let's get into this!

-Andre said in a post that the code is a mess and is very hard to work with and fix it because it was based on H4D's code which is incredibly outdated

-If any real progress on the site to "revive" it wants to be made it has to be done from scratch (not the site scratch)

-the large majority of users are computer and mobile users, not the 3DS platform so the site name itself might have to change and as I saw in another post made "the site is focused on the wrong demographic" the site rules are the same as, say, club penguin. we are too "family-friendly pg clean" and most of us are over the age of which parents give a if they see us in a community of "Bad People" (*koff* Benis *koff*).

-It looks as if it was made in ms paint! it doesn't look nice or modern at all, it looks like ! the banner, icons, font, tabs, menus, games, apps all need to be scrapped! oh and wtf is up with the smash entry on the banner? (Mr. Game And Watch adds a new dimension!)

-we, as the users, are kind of tired of the only thing we really come here for are ty roleplays and a chat. if we had more people were here then we would have the motivation to rebuild the site. we need to get the word out for this site, for the survival of it. the most amount of users I've ever seen has been 10 with around 7550 accounts with 0 usage, a rotting corpse of wasted server space waiting to be deleted.

Too Long; Did not Read! we need to rebuild this place in any way possible, from the ground up with all of us behind it, if we want this site to stay alive. if we wait too long Rob may stop his payments and the site may close permanently, and while it's true that we have misdew, discord, and hangouts it's not as easy, its a market on misdew, invites on discord, and email hook-up on hangouts. this is the only place where we have a simple log on and nothing else.

Discord has been working well for me for nearly two years now.

It's sad to see 3DSPlaza die, but any hope of it ever being active again is just retarded. Even if it did become active again after a rebuild, it wouldn't have the same users on it. The community is what made me spend 7 years on Plaza, not the website itself.

your post is way too long to read, so I didn't bother, but I'll read it later

You don't know what we've been through.

3DSPlaza was a great site in 2011-2014.

I've been a member on it for approximately 6-7 years, and it's sad to see it go.

The website is still maintained by Andre, as stated in Spencer's post, however, any chance of this site becoming active again has gone. As Rob once said, "when the console dies, the site dies". The 3DS community is now older and the community surrounding this website is older.

That's a picture of the site's usage charts, peaking in July of 2012, and it's gone downhill since then. Due to Rob having an active life doing things from tennis to snowboarding, he's not able to maintain this site and wasn't able to as the community changed. This doesn't, however, make it anything like Rob's fault. There's a decline in this site as the console is dying out. It's still a popular console, don't get me wrong, but in a different way. The average user won't come on the 3DS to check 3DSPlaza, they'll come on to play Mario or Zelda.

There's no point in rebuilding this community. Whilst yes, it might attract some of the users using the 3DS today, the website would not be the same. The golden era for this community has been, and has gone.

I totally agree but also disagree with you clyv, yes Rob does have an avtive life, and so do so many users but the main problem is that it's not seen alot due to such an obscere name and community, but if we the users use the ablity of the internet we can bring it back. and while the site is rarly ever used it's a safe place for people, if we push this message out to other sites, hell even to H4D that still has users registering daily, and if we can reach people and tell them we exsist this site can be be brought back.

and if I have to, I'll learn php, mysql, anything to remake this site

I'm closing this thread and I may regret it but if you want to say something to me, pm me, my box is always open
