he didnt lol he said there was violence on both sides because there was in fact the other side was Antifa which was there explicity to attack Trump supporters and they did but that wasnt publicized because some dip white trash piece of ran over some girl

This isn't supposed to be a disagreement but I'm going to say it anyway...


While there was violence on both sides, he failed to initially specifically point out that what the white supremacists and neo-nazis did was way worse and what they stand for is unacceptable (physically attacking others because of race, the car incident). So you know, such people would take the hint that Trump doesn't like what they do.
In addition to that, it took Trump a few days to specifically mention them. Later on, he went defending himself stating that he condemned them multiple times already (not properly he didn't). It's evident that either he didn't want to condemn them (remember, what was written down wasn't truly what he thought, kept defending what he said to begin with even later after supposedly condemning them [again, not really genuine]) or he couldn't be arsed and so tried to keep it really short.

Remember, white supremacists and neo-nazis on the Daily Stormer had even made it clear that to them it appears that Trump had defended them. That is bad.
Also, during a protest they also made it clear that they support Trump. One even was recorded implying that Trump is on their side and voted for Trump for that reason.

As the president, if he wasn't intending to accept them then he shouldn't have ended up only blaming both sides for violence multiple times and especially in the beginning. There's way more that should've been said. It should've been very well thought through.

A few people have said that he didn't condemn them because a lot of his supporters are white supremacists and neo-nazis (doesn't mean all or most, definitely some). This could be true considering what things Trump had said in the past and the family history thing.
