Touhou 15.5 Antinomy Of Common Flowers has finally been announced by ZUN after a long wait since Touhou 15 came out. If you are a fan of the fighting game spin-off series as i am you know the joy of hearing the ".5" being announced. I had alot of fun with 14.5, With its unique orb mechanic which functioned as sort of a Last word meter. Essentially the player who hits the Orb the most would get it, And once you had five you could use your insanely powerful last word attack.





But enough of past games, Lets get right into the newest edition to the Touhou franchise. Whilst the plot is a bit hazy and hard to understand right now, Here is the basic gist of the story. Quoting to the Japanese website giving out the base plot for this game, From http://tasofro.net/touhou155/; "A mysterious incident called “Absolute Possession” has occured. Although they are completely different, it affects both spirits and beings of flesh alike. However, there is nothing to worry about. Reimu has already determined the cause of this incident.
“The strongest two have joined forces”
“This could be bad for the humans”
“Has a foe who can’t be dealt with alone appeared?”
Speaking out of fear, the humans of the village spread foolish rumours.
Due to the unresolved “Urban Legend Phenomenon”, rumours and myths without a physical form began to materialise in our world.
This “Absolute Possession” is clearly just another part of that “Urban Legend Phenomenon”.
This is the story of those monitoring the “Absolute Possession”, those using it, those who are embroiled without knowing the reason why, and those who seek to purify the threat lurking behind it… …
It is the bittersweet story of those who mistakenly believed that “The strongest two” referred to themselves"


The first thing that jumps out at me is "Urban Legend Phenomenon" Could we be getting a sequel to ULiL? If so what will it be like? Will it be in the style of ULiL? and 13.5? Or will it be in the style of previous games such as Scarlet Weather Rhapsody? Now then lets focus on the plot a bit more. I was wondering the meaning of the title myself, But thanks to reddit user BobisOnlyBob we have a bit more insight into it;

"For the confused, it's Antinomy of Common Flowers, not Antimony. It means a paradox, conflict or contradiction between two otherwise truthful or seemingly valid statements. Antimony is a metal used in batteries. I expect this game to be the most perpetually misspelt Touhou title yet!
Also I'm not quite sure what an Antimony Antinomy of Common Flowers would be, but at a guess a display of Primroses and Sunflowers both in full bloom would count, as they are both common flowers but they bloom in opposed seasons, summer and winter. This would imply that the team-up mentioned in the description is between two individuals you might consider polar opposites, or maybe something to do with the Weather mechanics of prior Touhou fighting games."


Who could the polar opposites be? Will we see the return of weather mechanics from Scarlet Weather Rhapsody? For those of you who don't know, The different types of weather each had different effects, Some would heal you, Others would hurt you and some even near imobilizing you depending on if you ran into the literal hell raining from the sky.





Let me know what you all think. But personally i believe we will be seeing a game with the returning style of SWR with mechanics from recent fighting games, Such as the Last word system via the Orbs from 14.5. Quite honestly i'm excited, What about you guys?
