Why are there so many Youtubers that play video games instead of being creative and making content that hasn't been done over and over? It shouldn't be that youtube promotes this content instead of people that actually put work into their videos, but it is.

In my opinion, this is 100% internet cancer, seriously, making 'gaming videos" take no effort. I would know, because my faggoty ass used to make them, and honestly, I'm ashamed...

Not to mention, it's almost EVERYTHING that's on youtube... People like Pewdiepie, Markiplier, Jacksepticeye, SkyDoesMinecraft, are the bane of my existence at this point.

So I'd love to know, are you one of those "easy to please" people that actually watch these "content" creators that only want money from doing basically nothing?

Hey, maybe you can even defend these people to me. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

I prefer Youtubers like Rose Ellen Dix.

is it sad that I'm subbed to the first three channels you mentioned (and in exact order too)

But I like gaming youtubers...
Ayy Lmao.
ScootsRiver (2016-04-14 14:31:33)
^^Personal.

^I can't see why you would want to promote/support this cancer that has been promoted and supported for way too long, and has little value to offer to youtube.

I like some gaming youtubers and gaming videos can be helpful. I use it to know what I'm suppose to be doing in a game or see someone play it before i buy it and know if its good or not...

I barely watch youtube let's plays. When I do, it's always this one channel run by 2 girls who do theories and stuff. It's just entertaining. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ They don't do those outrageous reactions and crap like Pewdiepie does.

"Scoots, weren't you in favour of YouTube gamers not that long ago?"

Yea, and I still am...

This thread was honestly hard to make, because I used word "cancer" several times, despite hating the use of that word (along with "Autism" or "Autistic") outside of talking about the actual condition. And I thought this thread would obviously be a joke by that fact alone.

While I still really despise YouTube and the way their promotion system works, I do enjoy watching gaming youtubers like DashieGames, Jacksepticeye, Markiplier, TobyGames, EricVanWilderman and SkyDoesMinecraft. But I don't normally watch them for the games they play (unless I don't have the game. But even then, it tends to be a video of somebody I care little about, just so I can see the game). But when it's somebody I know, playing a game I have, it's normally because I want to see their reactions and opinions on it.

I don't know what Spencer means by "how brain dead you have to be.", but I'm going to assume it means gaming videos are boring... Something tells me he hasn't seen a lot of them... Not that it really matters because if he's seen some of them, and didn't like them, he probably won't like the genre. Or maybe just doesn't get it. Which is fine with me.

But yeah... While I do agree with alot of what I said, I wasn't serious.

See kids, this is one of those kind of guys you don't wanna be.

Waah, how dare you like something I hate in every little form imaginable, you have stupid tastes!

Spoiler alert: No one cares dude, this is the internet.
You don't need to proclaim your opinion like everyone is supposed to believe it. It doesn't matter whether it's an unpopular opinion or half of the world agrees with you, people are gonna have different tastes, it's called free will and some LPers do put at least a little effort, as in intros / outros / contests, whatever.
Sure I know that I might have gone a little overboard with this small rant, but really dude, you don't need to sh*t on people that like things different than you.
At least, not too hard.
oof

I wanna throw in my two cents on this whole thing now.

Gaming and Let's Play channels are far from being the worst. You could be doing reaction videos like Jinx, making pranks social felony experiements like Joe and ETHAN BRADBERRY, or you could be exploiting your children to opening Kinder surprise eggs filled with a tton of toys. I dunno, I'd rather watch PewDiePie than those other types of "content creators" I listed.

EDIT: I would list Keemstar and all the drama channels, but honestly, a ton of YouTubers make at least one or two videos addressing YouTube/Internet drama. I could refer to channels that solely cover this type of content, like DramaAlert, and sure, they're cancerous. However, again, drama news coverage isn't as bad as reaction videos or prank videos.
