The characters would have to act and look the same

Now to argue the rest of your points

They wear different clothes, wearing the same color doesn't mean anything

Except Maka's weapon is also a person

Woah, Soul Eater has to be the first show ever to have that premise.

The creator said he was inspired by anime and maybe even soul eater, but calling the MC a knock-off off such flawed reasoning is just [currently looking for better word to get my point across]
