My main problem with Club Nintendo was that you would have to spend $200+ dollars on games and consoles to get even one good prize. This wasn't a problem for me because I had a huge collection of games, but it was still outrageous.

^ I got most of my points from 3DS download titles, especially Virtual Console (ranged mainly from 5-10 coins). The regular 3DS eShop titles went for pretty decent amounts of coins as well and they were titles under $20 as well. Of course the retail games provided more points, but it wasn't called a "loyalty program" for nothing.

...Or, you can think of it like this: You buy games that you were going to buy anyway, and over time, you can get nifty things you didn't have before, for free. Good God, some people... The only problem I had with Club Nintendo is when they wouldn't tell you what the Platinum Rewards were until it was too late. I will never have that Majoras Mask soundtrack... But I digress; again, Nintendo doesn't need to have a programme like that. They could never have opened Club Nintendo, and then...? Peeps would have one less thing to complain about, anyway.

The prizes were often a bit disappointing, but they are better than nothing, which was always an alternative. I got StarFox 64 3D for free; I never would have bothered with it for over $20. I ended up not liking it, but still, I was given an opportunity to play it. Not really a bad thing, IMO.

^ Kinda, you register the game on My Nintendo and then you might have to complete a short quiz.

I'll sign up because I will buy the games anyways and I can get points for free items or games.
