Here, I'm going to talk a little bit about the "group" Anonymous. Before I begin, I know that there are going to be people who disagree with me (Sir_Daniel). Lets begin with who they are:

Who is Anonymous?

I have been told that Anonymous are Gods, awesome people, bad hackers and President Barrak Obama. Yes, they are all of them, and more.
They are a group of people with the same ideals and goals for America. They are, by no means, a hacker group, or even a group. They are known to be a Activist Group and a Hacker Group. But there is no sign ups, and no member ship fee.

Then how do I "join"?

Its simple. If you believe what they do is right, then buy a Guy Fawkes mask, and then call yourself Anon. Thats how everyone becomes "initiated" into Anonymous. Easy way: Go around calling yourself Anonymous. There you go.

Is there a leader in Anonymous?

No. There is not. There are no "true" leaders of Anonymous. Now, there is this one kid, I forgot his name, but he claims to lead Anonymous. There are some people(Like me) who lead small groups of people on websites. I lead the Anonymous group on here, and other websites. That is the closest you can get to have a "leader" in Anonymous.

What exactly does Anonymous do?

Well, before I can answer that, I should tell your their goal. Their goal is to protect our rights, especially our Freedom of Speech. I almost had a law suit filed against me for saying something bad about a black person for being a jerk to me. Thats messed up. They are also against pornography. So now, lets move on to the good Anons.

The Good

Some of the things Anons do is they bring out secrets that can help the Americans. Secrets that our government hide. As mentioned before, they shut down porngraphy sites. They also helped with the Amanda Todd case.

The Bad

Some of the bad Anons shut down government websites, and even PSN. Also, some will hack you if you are against them, or if you are for the Government. They also steal money.

So guys, thats all I wanted to say for now. Remember, it is not illegal to be a Anon. It depends on your actions.

This threads OP isn't even accurate. Here's what pretty much sums up anonymous:

Those who share their beliefs are automatically one of them. The "group" has little to do with hacking at all. They are not a "hacker group".

They also had nothing to do with the Amanda Todd case. A couple of people who identify as part of anonymous have taken down websites, but I don't know about pornography ones. That sure as hell isn't one of their goals though.

OP, please do thorough research before acting like you're an expert on a topic. Thank you.
