Reevaluating the Rules

If a limit to creating threads is ever programmed into the site, it'd actually make it harder to manage spam. The spammer will simply use alts to create more threads and more accounts to D3K.

1. "Peoples under the age of 13..." bit in the personal info rule should be removed. All users must abide by this rule whether you're 9 or 47 years old. For liability purposes...if I were to warn someone not to share personal info and they say: "but i am 15 yrs old lol" and I let them go, while in fact they're 10...bad news.
2. Issuing casual warns/bans for forum violations is a bit iffy, considering forum moderators don't have the tools to reprimand properly. They would have to bother the chat mods whenever someone deserved a ban, and this could cause a number of other issues and confusion. While warns/bans can and have been issued for forum misbehaviour before, it's not a very common occurrence as it's typically been only done for severe situations (repeated posting of a deleted/locked thread is an applicable example). So unless the forum moderators get a more efficient banning system other than the Deleter3000, warns/bans won't be a common occurrence from forum activity.
3. I disagree with the "more than 2 threads in 24 hours" rule...if the threads are an issue specifically, they'll be dealt with appropriately...otherwise I see no problem with posting 3 or 4 legitimate threads in 1 day. The forums are inactive enough as it is, so I don't see it as being a bother as long as the threads are legitimate topics (which would be pretty impressive if you can come up with more than 2 good threads in one day to begin with).
Finally, I'm a bit confused by "infractions" term...if this is another introduction, perhaps you'd like to explain it more...otherwise, just stick with "warn" and "ban" terms that we work with already.
Warnings aren't a strike, they're no longer--and were never meant to be--some sort of demerit system (that's what the strike system was for...) Warnings are merely a reminder, or a notice that you've just broken a rule that's punishable by ban. It would be fair to assume you weren't aware that you were breaking a rule, which is why warnings exist, and also why I prefer to only give 1 warning as one should be enough to get the message across. No one "deserves" 3 warnings, especially not for the same violation that they repeated 4 times in a row, or have gotten banned for before. Of course, more warnings might be necessary if more than 1 rule was broken, however that isn't very common.
So overall, it's a pretty nice detailing of the rules...generally, "global rules" are already recognized throughout the site (i.e. don't swear, be appropriate, no personal info, etc....common sense). Of course it would be more organized if we were to have a global rules page that's easily accessible and highly noticeable by any user...then each specific media of the site would retain their catered rules as already listed. The only reason why global rules can't be posted in the forums is because not all users visit the forums, and there's no way to efficiently send every new user to that thread.

And also you should add the fact that racism between chatters/rp'ers/forum people should be warnable or against the rules(Should be a part of the Global Rules for being civil right?). I mean seriously, we are all people afterall behind a computer screen(except for the bot's such as SLBot)

As for the "racism" (prejudice, more accurately) between forums/chat/RPers would be really constricting if we were to ban people from having a bias...People can have whatever opinion they want be it negative or positive, as long as they keep it reasonably (key word: reasonably) civil. Of course it would be wonderful for everyone to be nice and cheery and get along, but we can't force that with an iron fist :P

Images and content are a no-brainer, but I strongly disagree with a ban on curse words, they should only be banned if a user is trying to offend someone.

, a 10 year old could easily say they were 18.These are two major issues I've found, and let's face it, overall your list may be good for keeping the peace, but it takes away every last bit of freedom regular users have.

It's time to reevaluate the rules. Our community is constantly evolving, people are never the same. It's time to change the rules to keep order, yet allow users to continue to enjoy Plaza.
My first thought, is that the way we structure the rule system should change. We should introduce a set of rules that apply to the whole site, thus called Global Rules. Global rules ensure cohesiveness among all aspects of the site, thus being status, chat, forums, and profiles. These are my proposed global rules/guides:
-No inappropriate content shall be transmitted in the Plaza environment , including but not limited to nudity, sexual words, images, or content, and other inappropriate content. The sharing of this form of images can lead to a direct infraction/ban, conversations will be terminated with a warning. Disobeying the warning can lead to ban/infraction.
-Keep emotional peace. Don't offend others using vulgar language and content. Be reasonable when it comes to joking around and messing with other users. Comprehend that behind the scenes some users may be going through a rough time.
-Drama is okay, just be reasonable. Being social involves drama. Arguments should be kept civil, find the solution without disturbing peace. If your having an argument regarding other situations, such as politics, again be civil and prove your point(s) logically. If arguments get out of hand, moderators have the right to terminate the conversations with a warning, but without a direct ban/infraction. Disobeying the warning can lead to a ban/infraction.
-Be conscious of the whole community. There are people on here of all ages, be aware that sometimes what seems appropriate to you isn't appropriate to younger audiences. Moderators have the right to terminate public conversations that can disturb younger/less mature audiences. Moderators cannot ban you for have such a conversation without warning you before hand. Disobeying the warning can lead to a ban/infraction.
-Public displays of dating and sexual communication is prohibited. Mods should issue an infraction if such content is displayed.
-Asking to become a moderator is prohibited. As well as mini-modding, pretending to be a moderator, is also prohibited. Exhibition of such activity in any aspect of the site is prohibited, and users should be warned the first time, the second time an infraction/ban can be issued. Users asking to become mods should not be ignored, if the user continuously asks, the spam/flood rules (independent of aspect pf the site) take effect.
-Obey the moderators. If you don't agree with a mod, don't disturb the peace. Instead ask for information regarding the warn/infraction/ban. If you believe you were warned or issued a ban/infraction unfairly, consult the Community Manager/Other mods. Moderators should not take advantage of this, and if a moderator does take advantage, the mod may be dismissed without prior warning.
-One account per person. It is not okay to withhold or have more than one account in possession. Every account is tagged with a IP address, or a series of numbers associated with your household internet. I recommend not inviting your siblings/other household members to the site, as this can lead you (and other family members) a ban. Moderators, you should analyze the usage and behavioral patterns of "siblings". If you deem that it is one person controlling the accounts, issue a ban on all accounts, and if the user evades the temporal ban, or makes more alternative accounts afterwards a permanent ban may be issued, without warning. Users whom make multiple accounts and actually use them (usage in the past 60 days) can be perma banned. Users whom have multiple accounts and don't use them (no usage in past 60 days) should be wanred and alternate accounts should be banned.

Next up are the proposed individual rules/guides for the chat rooms.

-Name color. Light colored name letters are prohibited. Moderators should take in to mind that not all users are aware that light colored letters or names in the chat are prohibited. Mods should preform the following check to guide themselves when judging a color:
Hold your device at half arm length from the tip of your nose. Then raise the brightness to 100%. Compare the individual character color to the white of the background. Use reasonable judgment and rate the similarity on a scale of 1-100. With 1 being white (#FFFFFF) and 100 being black(#000000). If the user has a color you rank below 10, inform the user and give them a chance to change the color. If the user intentionally changes their color to a light color, it would be an infraction. If the user disobeys, ask other mods to rank the color. Majority choice, if majority of the mods determine a color is too light the user is obligated to change their color. If user changes their color to a slightly darker color twice in a row (after warn) an infraction can be issued.
-Spamming and flooding the chat. This is a topic largely argued in the chat. The two are two different things.
Spamming, spamming is the sharing of a similar message more than 3 times in a row. Spam content includes sharing the same advertisement (#Me4Mod! Vote me!), continuous sharing of the urls leading to the same/similar content (images, random websites), random messages (aaaaaababbababababa), etc. Sometimes users tend to press the enter button while typing (me) and can lead to run off messages. Mods should watch the out come then determine if it was spam. If a user is sharing a message repetitively (such as a Follow me on ig!) multiple times within a 10 minute period (not spammed message after message) and is shared more than 5 times in that period a warn must be issued first. Then an infraction/ban can be issued of the user continues. Flooding on the other hand isn't the sharing of the same message. This can for example be:

The user 'Delta' isn't spamming. But it flooding, and in this case an extreme case. If a user begins to flood, a mod should warn. If the user continues, an infraction/ban can be issued.
Forum individual rules:
-Global Rules apply
Post flooding/spamming: Spamming and flooding in the forums is different than in the chats. The same concept applies, but management is different.
Situations: A user makes a thread that breaks a rule, thread should be locked and user be warned. If the user makes the same thread (even if in another location) the user will receive an infraction/ban.
A user makes a thread that has been closed due to being irrelevant/solved. The user makes the same thread. The process repeats. User can be issued an infraction/ban.
A user posts more than two threads in the same forum in a period of 2 hours should be given a warn. To limit thread spam, users have been aloud a total of posting four threads every 24 hours. Violation will result in a warn, then proceed to a ban/infraction.
A user posts more than one comment in a row in a topic. Users should edit their comment if they need to say more. The same, warning then a infraction/ban.
Forum specific rules: Each forum has it's own rules, but can mods manage and prevent infractions? A user is given 3 chances to comply with a forum rules when composing a thread/comment. With every rule break, a warn is issued. Once the three chances are up, a ban is issued. Every time the user is banned, ban time shall be doubled (2 day ban to 4 day ban to 8 day ban etc.
Profile rules:
-Global Rules apply
-Spam and flooding. The only possible way to spam/flood on a profile is in the comments. In general the flood/spam limit should be 5 messages. A warn can be issued. Posts only qualify as spam/flood if the limit is exceeded in a one hour time frame.
Profile mods have all the right to remove rule breaking content from profiles without prior warning. Reintroduction of content by the user after the mod removed it can result in a warn/infraction/ban.
Terms:
Warn: Advising the user
Infraction: User receives an infraction warn
Ban: User is prohibited from interacting with site elements.
This is still very rough, please submit thoughts below (negative and positive).
