I've been thinking ever since I read an argument on twitter;

Saying that Peter Parker (Spider-man) couldn't be played by a black actor do you agree?

And if you didn't know there is a black version of spider-man (Miles Morales)

Lotsa remakes or UK-American movies feature black characters.

But um. Marvel movies follow comic books, changing Spider-man to a black nerd would be weird and seem like some gimmick to get black people to stop spouting how every movie has a white person

It really depends on the character.

Aren't they making the Human Torch in the new Fantastic 4 black? I don't think that's a bad change. He's supposed to be hotheaded as a pun, black people are better at acting hotheaded.

If the character is of a certain pigment, then the person that plays that character should be as well.

The thing with Marvel though, is that they constantly change the appearances of their own characters in the comic books themselves.

^That isn't something entirely unique to Marvel. Superheroes are always recieving a make over every now and then, however race is something that is usually consistent. How ever, Marvel is starting to do things differently. Take Nick Fury, dude used to be white, now everytime you see him he looks like Samuel L. Jackson.

Its like what ever aesthetic changes made in the movies is transfered over to other forms as well. Like Wolverine and Hawkeye for example.

Actually, the comics had the idea of Samuel L Jackson first^ that's why they used him in the movie because he noticed that it looked like him and wanted the role

I know, just trying to quell Isaac's whining about Fantastic 4 specifically lol. Although sometimes race was changed experimentally in cartoons and crap(ex. Green Lantern). It's not done often but it does exist and has existed, I think fans should welcome it if it's not too dramatic.

Some of these users here Remind me of Chris Chan when he lost his marbles over Sonic's arms being blue in that abomination of a "game" Sonic Boom. However, I'm sure you guys wouldn't mace someone over it.

@KomradeKishy About Green Lantern, I don't think that it was an experimental change. There are 5 separate human GLs in DC canon, they just chose the black guy (John Stewart)

Honestly its really annoying that Marvel has been changing the color of people in the marvel universe. Electro was changed to black,human torch?? WTF were they thinking with that one?? Nick furry IDC anymore because they've had him black and white nonstop for awhile but he's is officially black now... Let's make Blade white!! How would that do?
