This is for art class. It is Lucina from Fire Emblem Awakening.

That grid method is good for scaling things.
I did that to make a huge black cat cutout for Halloween.

Good thing you caught that. It is good form making large scale models. Better than from scratch.

I'll post another one where I smooth the shading and added more shading.

I used to have these little activity books with a picture on a grid and a blank grid for you to copy them on. They really are good.

The picture is pretty good, if you ask me.

I wish my art teacher let me use grids. I can't shade well because I use exclusively mechanical pencils.

Then I learned how to pull the lead out.
PhoenixDawn (2014-11-13 02:05:46)
I used 2H pencils.

I have a set of different graphite and charcoal pencils but whenever I use them my art gets all smudgy.
I prefer mechanical pencils or black pens.

It's awesome ^^
BootyPopper (2014-11-14 18:10:50)
saying you can't shade because you only use mechanical pencils is a poop excuse because you can shade with mechanical just as well as you can with a wooden pencil.
I made a charizard drawing that I showed a while ago and I made it entirely in mechanical pencil. shading and all
Spoiler: show
