HISTORY OF CRICKET:

This game was played by the Royal family in England when they were ruling India. (1857 - 1947). When the game was born, back then, it was only played by the Royal family members and the Kings. There was no method of playing. In the game's early age, the only two rules were,

-> Your turn will end if someone catch the ball directly after hitting your hand, or, if you missed the ball and it hit the wicket which is right behind the batsman and in front of the wicket keeper.

-> You will get one point if you hit a ball (the ball changed its shape from time to time, which is none of our concern) wth your palm.

CRICKET TEAMS:

There are currently 10 ICC (International Cricket Council) members and more than 100 Associate members who play Cricket, only ICC member countries can play tournaments like, ICC World Cup, ICC Champions League. The list of the ICC members:

- Australia.
- Bangladesh.
- England.
- India.
- New Zealand.
- Pakistan.
- South Africa.
- Sri Lanka.
- West Indies (This team is shared by all the Caribbean Islands).
- Zimbabwe.

RULES:

If you want to learn the rules, suppose there is a Cricket match between Pakistan and India.

- There are 11 players in a team and one of the is the captain. The first thing that the two captains will do is a coin toss in company with a match referee.
The host team will throw the coin and the visitor captain will have the right to call heads or tails. Suppose the Pakistani captain threw the coin and the Indian captain called heads, and it is tails, the Pakistani captain will win and will have the right to choose if he will bat first or bowl first. The Pakistani captain chose to bowl first.

BATTING:

The captain will send two batsman in the pitch (22 yards long path on which bowler delivers the ball so it bounces to the batsman). One of the batsman will get On-strike(the batsman who will face the bowl first) and one will stand on the right/left of the umpire. After the bowler will deliver the bowl and batsman will play the shot the two batsmen will run to score, note the batsmen must be in the wicket when one of the fielders (the remaining 9 players who are supposed to catch the ball and throw the ball back to the wicket keeper or bowler) throw the ball back to the bowler or the wicket keeper(the one who stands right behind the batsman to catch the ball if the batsman misses it). If the batsmen takes even runs (2, 4, 6) he will stay on-strike, note that two runs are made by running two times between the wickets and 4 and 6 runs are made if the batsman hits a bowl and the bowl touches the boundary rope and if a batsman hit a bowl and it gets out of the ground without touching the ground after it hit the bat respectively. If the batsmen run odd runs the non-striker(the one standing on the left/right of the umpire) will face the next bowl. If one of the two batsmen get out the captain will send another batsman until the number of outs reach 10. A batsman cannot go out and bat twice.

How can a batsman get Out?
A batsman can get out if:
-the bowl hits the wicket after pitching on the pitch.
-the batsman hits a shot and it goes straight in the hands of a fielder or wicket keeper without touching the ground.
-if the bat of the batsman hits the wicket.
-if the batsmen hasn't finished the run(they didn't enter the crease of the wicket (there are two ends of a pitch both ends has wickets)
)and the fielder hits the wicket before the batsman enters it, the batsman who was approaching to the crease whose wicket got hit will get out and the captain will send a new batsman.
-if the batsman gets out of the crease in attempt to hit the bowl hard and he misses it, if the wicket keeper catches it and hit it on the wicket, the batsman should go.

How will the batting turn of one side end?

If all ten batsmen gets out their batting turn will end, or if all the available overs are completed. Overs consists of 6 bowls (bowls = deliveries = the number of times bowler has threw the ball). After every 6 bowls the bowling captain has to change the bowler, the bowler can bowl an over again until his allowed overs are completed (ten in ODI Cricket, 4 in T20I Cricket and unlimited in Test Cricket).
In ODI Cricket there are total 50 overs, 20 in T20I and 5 days in Test Circket.

So suppose Pakistani team has putted a target of 250 - 5 (250 score with 5 batsmen's loss). The Indian team has two score 251 or more to win the match in their limited overs.

BOWLING:

Now the team that was batting will now bowl and try to defend their score.
The captain will choose who would he like to give an over from the 10 players(wicket keeper can't bowl).
If the bowler is a lefty(left handed) he must bowl from the side of the umpire, and vice versa.

Following are the types of bowling:

-FAST AND MEDIUM: In this type, the bowler starts his run-up from at least 15 steps and bowls the delivers the bowl. The ball automatically comes fast towards the batsman.
Same with the medium bowlers but their pace is a little bit low.

-SPIN AND SLOW: Lefty bowlers bowl slow ball and righty bowlers bowl spin bowl. The bowler just walks towards the crease and delivers the bowl in such a way that it spins so the batsman gets confused.

-RULES:

-A bowler can't overstep (he can't step over the crease line when he delivers the bowl). That will be considered as no-bowl and the batsman will get a free run without running for it, plus, the next bowl will be a free hit and he will not get out in that bowl in any way except getting run-out.
-A bowler can't deliver a bowl directly upward the batsman's waist height. That will be considered as a no-ball but the batsman will not get the free run and the free hit.
-A bowler can't bowl more than two bowls above shoulder height in one over that will also be considered as a no-ball but without the free things.
-A bowler can't bowl a bowl behind his legs or too wide on his front, that will be considered as a wide-ball and the batsman will only get a free run for that bowl.

FIELDING:

In fielding, fielders simply has to chase the bowl when a batsman hits it. The fielders are supposed to catch the bowl and throw it back to the bowler or the wicket keeper before the bowl touches the boundary rope. A bowler is also a fielder.

So the Indian Team could only manage 238 - 4 score and Pakistan won the match.

A: A power-play is either taken by the bowling captain or batting captain. It duration vary according to the type of Cricket. In a power-play maximum 2 fielders can be outside the inner circle as It is shown in the previous answer.
Power-play is of 10 overs in ODI Cricket, 2 in T20I Cricket and no power-play in Test Cricket.

CRICKET KIT:
