I also made a small SM64 hack, which was basically just a winter recolor of the normal game with Luigi and Daisy.

It's also very possible to break stuff by editing just the tiniest things in the game.
Like erasing Layer2 from a room show
or spawning yourself in a no-scroll zone show

WWTEpicFail (2014-06-18 20:24:03)I've played tons of Pokemon ROM Hacks. Fun, and fun, depends on the hack.
I also plan some hacks myself, like "New Super MarioMon!", where you play in the Mushroom Kingdom (region) as Mario or Peach. There is also a sequel planned after my main one.
WYoshiX2 (2014-06-19 00:09:00)@mega It's a program called SMILE (Super Metroid Integrated Level Editor) that's used for very general editing of the various rooms in the game. This page[/link] has a variety of Metroid-editing tools, and [link=http://metroidconstruction.com/hacks.php?x=top]this page has IPS patches for other hacks that you many want to try, including Blitz and dozens more. Phazon Hack is probably my favorite one, alongside Redesign, Volta and Eris. Hopefully my own hack will be up there someday.
N64 games always seem tough to hack, being 3D and all, yet there's word of advanced programmers hacking the Prime trilogy. It must take a lot of dedication.

@WWT I don't know a whole lot about graphics compared to level design, but you might be able to just implement your own sprites with a graphics editor. I suppose it depends on how sophisticated the sprite movement is. All I know is that Samus' sprite rotation/animation looks like a nightmare to edit with YYCHR.

For those who haven't heard of it, ROMhacking can be referred to as customizing games and making your own levels, dialogue, graphics/physics changes, etc. to potentially make your own game. Fan-made games that are created as such happen to be called ROMhacks.
Games like Pokemon, Metroid, Mario, and even Zelda are commonly hacked and sometimes made into something grand. Let's take Super Metroid, for example.

with enough time, effort, and hex/ASM knowledge.
What hacks have you all played? Ever considered creating your own ROMhack?
