I've never read Homestuck. From what I've gathered from Tumblr, there are trolls who represent months and other things, Dave Strider x John Egbert is popular, and the Homestuck fandom has A M A Z I N G artists.

Yeah, most of the Homestuck fanartists are amazing.

Look up any one of the characters with 'fanart' at the end and prepare to have your mind blown.

Homestuck is pretty long, rambling, and you have to be able to keep track of multiple plot lines to actually get it. All of the other MSPA comics are short, funny, and convinient.
