I'm requesting that moderator icons like the crown get removed (especially in the chats), so mods don't get a higher social status by new users and n00bs. Also would it be more easily spotting rule-breakers, since the rulebreakers don't do inappropriate things when mods are around. This should be more easy for the mods (especially chat mods).
Thanks for reading. If there are any flaws in this idea, I'm glad to know them.

No.. There'd still be the green box, and people would probably know who the mods are.. Plus, sometimes users need help. How are they supposed to know who to come to? Helping others is part of a mod's job too, well, at least that's what I think. We used to have a stalk mode where moderator's name wouldn't show up on the user list.

I'm guessing that you dislike the icons because you don't have one. Plus, if users don't break the rules when mods are around, then ight then. Do you want them to be banned? On the other hand, what mega said.

Jason, you just blatantly suggest stuff without much thoughts around it, like you don't read arguments. "Atleast, that's what I think". Also, mega and Jason, I don't want users to be banned. Just rulebreakers. What, do you encourage people to break rules? I never mentioned banning. Just taking proper action. Atleast, that's what I wanted to tell. And to little, if this idea would be implied, then it would make the most sense to make the green button blue, perhaps have some sort of /on and /off command for that.

And what you just said "Jason, you just blatantly suggest stuff without much thoughts around it," makes it hilarious because I'm not the one suggesting and I could tell that you sir didn't use much thinking into your suggestion. So what if mods get a higher status? New users can get their way up to that level one day.

I only asked you if you wanted them banned, not that you really do want them.

But like you said if the idea was to come to reality, then maybe that would work.

I was so caught up with this being such a bad (meowsflash caliber) idea, that I overlooked the fact that this is actually a suggestion/request. Doesn't this sound like a feature suggestion? On the other hand, it's not asking for something to be implemented, so I guess it belongs here more than it does anywhere else.

So yeah, being a moderator is not anything like being a sniper. It's not about lurking in the shadows and waiting to get a kill/ban someone. Blowing your cover is not important. Mods are not there only to punish rulebreakers, they've also got to help people, and when help is needed, it can be found thanks to those special icons you want removed.
I just want to add that to what's already been said.

You would still be able to query them and see their green boxes. And it sounds like you just think of modding like banning people. Users who need help tend to go to moderators first.
