Parallel worlds, the ash/anime world and the red/game world. the red world is prone to timeline lapses(for instance, if origins was true and mega Charizard X was in red/blue, or people/Pokémon from Hoenn and Sinnoh were in the original Gold/Silver, as they were in HG/SS) and splits(Ruby and Sapphire, or X and Y), while the anime World is unstable, Prone to copies of some Pokémon being made (explains multiple mewtwo's) and time to become non-existent (ash coma theory disproved) Both are linked in some way or another, and many people exist in both world, yet unaware of the other world(Gym leaders, team Admins ETC). However, what goes on in one is reflected in the other one way or another. Major events like the calling of Legendaries(not the capture) happen in both worlds, but not always with the same people, the same time(relative to the other world) or with the same actions or words performed or spoken by the people present. However, Giratina can travel between each world, but only indirectly, as there is a dimensional airlock known as the distortion world or reverse world(differs between worlds), which prevents people and some Pokémon from traveling between worlds. However, Giratina can travel, as can Pokémon like Porygon and Arceus. In the event of Giratina's or Arceus's Capture in the Red world, the original is transported to their own dimension and a copy is made, and this copy is what is captured. The original then prevents the trainer who captured the copy form perceiving it or it's direct influence(portals or it's shadow, things like that), but other forms are allowed to be seen(Arceus's meteors in the movie, for example) they are also subconsciously kept away from happenings to the original or another copy(like Giratina's capture by Zero in Sky Warrior) Should a non-traveller somehow get past the safeguard and enter the other world, all memories of the other world or passage through the airlock are "backed up", then removed from the mind and new memories, close to the original ones but more suited to the other world, the world they now inhabit, are put in their place. Should they get back again, the same process is repeated and they resume their normal life in their original world. A copy of them was created when they left to continue their existence and act as an Anchor for there soul to find it's way back, should it happen. The memories stored by the copy are given to the original on return to his/her/it's home world, so as to cover up their rift walking. However, some escape this. Cyrus was relieved to have come through the Reverse world from the Ash world, but his original memories were never truly erased and as such he bears a fascination for space and Giratina. when he returns to the Distortion world, he is taken by Giratina to return to his own world. However, Arceus persuades Giratina to let Cyrus lose to the Champion and the Child to teach him humility. After this, he is subconsciously directed to a portal where he can return to his original world. Lysandre had also come from the Ash world, and knew something was wrong. However, he thought death, perhaps his own, but perhaps not, would set things straight. However, Giratina did not wish for Lysandre to return, But Arceus wished to give Lysandre a second chance. To do this the created the legend and creation of Xerneas by Arceus to save him and Yveltal by Giratina to kill him . Xerneas sought to save Lysandre and return him to the Ash world, While Yveltal knew that only Lysandre's death would return the balance to the worlds. this is one of those times where the Red world splits, and there are 2 accounts of what happened. The first is that Xerneas saved Lysandre from Giratina's Wrath and returned him to the Ash world, while the other story is that Yveltal succeeded and prevented his return. Thus is the story, told to but 1 person: Red. there is a reason Red is silent, and that reason is the fact that he cannot reveal the truth, for if he does, both Mt. Silver and Mt. Coronet will fall, as well as the Ruins of Alph and the old Sinjoh ruins. this will mark the beginning of an invasion on the Red world to prevent the truth getting out and perhaps reaching the Ash world, as unlikely as it is. With the truth, one could riftwalk of their own free will between the Red world and the Ash world and not lose his memories, and thus have incredible power over almost everything. This must be prevented, or else Chaos will ensue and the Gods will fall, and the one with the Truth will rule. However, unknown the Gods, Red told just one other person when they happened to meet: N. Red was going to Mt. Silver to train further, and the knew he might not survive the conditions there. So he told N. However, He did not want the knowledge to be known to anyone else, and the only reason that he had told N was because he had a pure and honest heart. However, Because N was only a boy of 3 or 4, he removed the full memory of what he had said and left but a feeling of knowing that something was wrong with the world. He then left him with some wild Pokémon so that they might bring him up. However, it was made know to N again when he met Reshiram or Zekrom(timeline split). Using this knowledge, he travelled to the Ash world for about 2 years, taking the place of his Ash version, but because of the way the memory and clone "programs" worked, no clone was made in the Red world. He met other versions of people he knew in the Red world. He told no-one, as was Arceus's orders, and when the time was right he returned to his old world with Reshiram/Zekrom, only for Ghetsis to take control of his dragon. This meant he could no-longer Riftwalk. When he got Reshiram/Zekrom back, the dragon was changed. After being bonded to Kyurem, the Legendary lost it's powers or dimensional travel. Because of this, N gave up the dragon the boy/girl who had saved him, who turned out to be the Cousin of Gold. Also, the boy/girl N had met 2 years ago, the one who had been chosen by the other dragon, met N at the ruins of his old castle and told N that he/she was related to Red. Red, by this time, was dead from the Frozen climate at Mt. Silver, and was now a ghost, waiting his purpose to be fulfilled: to be beaten. He was the Strongest of his day, but he knew there was now someone stronger. That someone was Gold. when Red was bested, he knew his purpose was fulfilled-to be bested. Red's Ghost then Gestured to the ground nearby. When Gold dug there, he found the one thing Red had wanted him to have: his cap. A symbol of Power, it was handed down in Red's family for generations. This was the one thing that Red had always treasured, as it was the only Memento of his father, who was also given the power of riftwalking, and left with no clone, and left to the other world, and went on the Father Ash. Gold took the cap and put it on, and in that moment, he saw the truth. and it killed him. He died there on Mt. Silver wearing Red's Cap on top of his own. Though his body survives, his mind is gone, and with it Red's heirloom. Now, the ghosts of both Red and Gold wander the slopes of the mountain, frozen and alone, waiting for someone else to challenge them. someone else to give the burden of the truth to. Someone who could bear it's weight. That someone could only be someone else in the line of succession: for Red's father was the son of Arceus, and Gold's father was the son of Mew. Next in the line of succession was Giratina. And the son of Giratina was N. So N's son will be the next to bear the weight. Will it kill him too?
