Five years, she had been in the business of human trafficking. Except instead of enslaving helpless men and women, she infiltrated different slave-rings and freed the victims. Sending the slavers to prison with nearly life sentences. "Jimmy" was the one who got her started in it, after she herself had been a victim.
"Ugh.. I hate airplanes." He said. "Couldn't you have found something better, Mary?" He groaned. She playfully hit him with her purse and laughed. "You hate every mode of transportation that makes you sit!" She said. "Hey, man was made to work, not sit and stare at clouds rush by." He said jokingly. Chapter one:
She walked into the café and unfolded her umbrella. The rain was coming down in droves and didn't look like it was going to let up anytime soon. Loosening her trenchcoat she looked around, and saw the man she was searching for. She walked over and slipped into the booth he sat at. "I'm glad you decided to join me." She said pleasantly. He grunted and looked up from his phone at her. Looking him over, she noticed he had changed quite a bit. Despite his ragged goatee and mussed hair, he looked quite presentable, wearing a simple button-down shirt and khaki slacks. "I'm not going back." He said flatly. She smiled, reminiscing on the old days. "Jimmy," She started, "Don't call me that." He said somewhat angrily. "Fine, whatever. You don't want to go." She raised her hands in defeat. "Just read this."
She reached into her inside coat pocket and pulled out an envelope. He took it and opened it. He read it and slammed it down. Running his fingers through his hair and letting out an exasperated sigh he said; "How soon can you get me there?"
