This past Monday, a (gal) friend of mone who's about 2 1/2 years older than me asked of I had a crush on her.

I personally hate this question. Say "yes", and everything gets awkward. Say "no", and you look like a .

So, I didn't answer. I'm not much of a talker in real life -- I stutter and slur my words (thanks, homeschool) -- so I literally didn't say anything.

She assumed that meant "yes".

The entire time after that, everything was awkward as hell. She acted a little bit differently, like girls that find out you like them, then have you do their homework nd shet.

How do I break it to her without sounding or looking like a ?

EDIT: Oh, and a few other things;
-I only see her on Monday. Our parents are in the same bible study class. However, my mom started work recently, and my dad doesn't go, so it may be a month or two of hell until I see her again.

-I do have her email, but I'm not gonna do that.

Well, although it is annoying, you can't blame her for assuming you mean "yes", thanks to all the other teenagers these days who act the same way when meaning "yes".

She's more than likely to ask you again, so you should just say "no".

There's no reason for feeling like an ass just for not liking someone. Well you probably already knew that part so just ignore her if when you say "no" it doesn't get threw her head. Or do whatever else. Your choice

I didn't say I don't like her. She's pretty much the closest friend to me I have at the moment, and that's why I don't want to say "no".

Remember, there's still a huge chance she doesn't even like you in the first place. Don't ask me why. That's just how females are.
