I'ma gonna start reviewing a Super Monkey Ball review series! I'm gonna review all the Super Monkey Ball games I own because I'm a fan to the franchise. So let's check out a GameCube classic!


Super Monkey Ball is Sega's first game ever to be on a Nintendo console! (OMG!) Developed by Amusement Vision, and yea. This is just a basic info about it.

Story

This game somewhat doesn't really have a story, but according to the opening cutscene of the game (look video below), the monkies will do ANYTHING to get their hands with a banana. They'll go though jungles, a city, a hilly zone, desserts, under water, a robot city, and even outer space!


Overall, wierd story. And kind of funny.

Gameplay

The gameplay is super simple: all you need to do is move the Control Stick! That's it! You use the Control Stick to roll the ball and make it reach to the goal. Simple right? Yea, but the stages gets harder as you progress, making you frustrate, and even sometimes make you rage quit.

But overall, the game is very fun!

Graphics

The graphics are amazing! Very detailed, smooth character models and stages. The lighting is also amazing, making it fit perfectly with the stage world.

The amazing 60fps is amazing! What's even better when it comes to multiplayer is that frame rate will still be the same, however, the lighting will be removed. It somewhat affects the graphics, but as you have fun with your friends and family, you'll forget about it and still enjoy the game!

Overall, amzing, bravisimo! Yay graphics!

Music

Music in this game are also amazing, catchy, and very memorable. Fits with the environment, and world. A lot of great varieties of music.

Modes
Main Game: This is where you play the game. But therese also more modes to select.



Party Games: This mode, you can play 3 different games:



Mini Games: The games won't be available right off the bat. You need to unlock them by getting points from the main game. The games are:




Replay

Replay value is high! First you have the multiplayer options, but the real deal is the main game. If you get a game over, the game is really not over! You need to unlock every single level in the game! Up to 113 unique stages to unlock! You'll also need points from the main game to unlock mini games! Then what's pretty cool about it is that you can save replays! If you see an epic fail, save it! And watch it over and over later!

The game overall is jam packed for a GameCube game! Lots of stuffs to do, and exciting levels to unlock and explore!

Yes. This game was classic. Too bad the series ended up butchered through future developments. Super Monkey Ball 1 and 2 were a substantial part of my childhood.
