Any crazy, stupid, pointless, etc theories from teachers you've heard?

For me, it's common that teachers think that being quite and not listening to music helps us concentrate on test and exams. Well, I'm here to prove that wrong!

I can't stand silence at all. I have troubles concentrating in absolute silence, and it drives me crazy.

That pairing us up with random other kids or kids we hate, actually improves our friendship with them.

I know of many teachers who hate kids...

Anyway, I have often found great difficulty concentrating with lyrical music, however non-lyrical music can certainly boost my productivity.

I heard of a test which was done, where some students got to hear classical music during their test, while the other students had none. The musically influenced students scored better.

I think music has far more of an impact than we realize. I also think each type of music gives a different influence. I don't think teachers should ban music from their classroom. Students should be able to use their own private music device (iPod, Walkman, etc) and see how things go. If their results suffer, take it away. If their results succeed, let them keep it. Simple...

Off topic: I really don't care if a teacher gets paid less than a cashier unless I like them.

On topic: Music helps me think better, but only if it's classical since pop music made me get on my desk and sing instead of homework.

Music while studying is kinda unnecessary for me, not hindering nor helping me focus, but it provides minor enjoyment during all nighters.
