And to answer your question, yes, it's been done for novelty purposes, but it is outlawed by the Geneva convention and the U.N as an "inhumane" weapon.

It could work.

It doesn't necessarily need a gas tank to be powered. It could be powered by a battery or energy core.

Also, if you came running at a soldier with your mini chainsaw, they would probably just shoot your legs/arms, trip you, or turn it against you.
