"Woohoo!"
"Go Jerry! Go!"
"C'mon! Your gonna win!"

Half of the crowd cheered for me, because today was an exceptionally big day.
Today, was the annual mountain biking tourney, and I just made it to the top five! I sped around corners, popped over rocks and roots, ducked under branches and overhangs, powered up hills, powered down hills, and all the while having a blast! Mountain biking, (or biking in particular) is my favorite hobby. I had one person on my tail, my rival.

Logan.

He's better than me, and to tell the truth, I'm okay with that. Unlike some people, I can live with being second. Especially since silver medals are shinier!
Anyways, I was coming up on a rough part. Real rough. If I didn't keep my head around the next hundred yards, it'd probably be taken off.
Which is nearly what happened. You see, I glanced back to see how close Logan was, and when I turned back, there was a flash of brown, and then..

Darkness.

"Ohh.." I moaned. I opened my eyes to bleached white walls and bright lights. I reached up to cover my eyes with my hand, when I realized my hand was wrapped in a bandage. I lifyed the other one, and it was only slightly cut. I looked down, and from my waist, all the way to my shins was a massive cast. I couldn't feel anything.. Everything felt numb. Void. I sat up, and instantly felt a wave of nausea. At least I feel that.. I thought as I layed back down. Emotions started to creep up on me as I dissolved into thought. The most prominent one was anxiety. I felt like something was about to happen.. Something bad..

But of course, nothing happened except for the nurse walking in the door. She made me jump when she did. "How are you feeling?" She asked, holding her clipboard and pen at the ready. "Numb." I said. "Bored. Tired. Aggravated." I listed off almost every single emotion before finally ending with "Anxious".

A looked over in the corner, and saw a man, in a sitting position. Except, there was no chair. "Hey.. Who is that?" I asked the nurse, pointing to the man. He was really creeping me out, because he held hi arms out as if he were really sitting in a chair. The nurse looked where I pointed with a puzzled expression. "What man? There's only a chair." She said. I blinked, and then rubbed my eyes, and it was just a plain ol' chair. "But.. But I saw.." I couldn't really figure out whether it was a chair or a man.. It was all to creepy. The nurse edged over and felt my forehead. "You must be hallucinating due to your fever.." She said. "Hallucinating?" It took me a moment to realize what she had said. "I'm not insane!" I yelled, flailing my arms and knocking over a few monitors. The nurse tryed calming me, but when that didn't work, she quickly exited and retrieved a doctor.

Quite a few things happened in between that time and now, but long story short: I ended up in an insane asylum.

Arriving there was kind of awkward. I was not dressed in a straight-jacket, I was simply led by a beefy guard and a thin nurse to my cell. No, in "Mental Hospitals", you aren't a patient, (unless you are referring to waiting) You are a prisoner. Every door was made of thick steel, armed with an electronic lock and taser system to ensure nobody escaped if they had any "fits". The people there were dressed in just about anything. T-shirts, cargoshorts, swimwear, jeans, skirts, etcetera. Everyone occasionly showed signs of insanity, but they mainly looked like regular people. A few of the "Signs of insanity" were things such as:

Crapping on the food trays in the cafeteria.
Tripping, or running into something, and then engaging said object in a verbal battle.
Talking to thin air.
Talking to fat air.
Putting food in improper places, such as-- Nevermind.

Basically, these people were nutcases in the clothing of innocence. When I finally reached my cell, I was amazed at how comfortable it looked. The bed was a king size, and there was a sofa, table, chair, barred window, and a TV. No gaming console, though, which was slightly dissapointing. The first thing a did was climb up onto the bed and start bouncing. The ceiling was pretty high, so I didn't have to worry about bonking my head.

Ended rather abruptly (unless, of course, you plan to add on). But it's good! You may want to proof-read the first paragraph ^^

*Fixed a few mistakes.

This is a prequel to "It.", by the way. You should read "It." first. And, when I'm done with this, I'll continue from where I left off on "The Fifth.".

You are soooooo descriptive. I feel like when I write a story, I use certain phrases, Such as Once upon a time (Juss kidding) But in different stories, Ill always have a few lines that make the story just CLICK. =p And you know that youve nailed that part. You have so many of those. BUT, I didnt get how he could walk into the insane asylum if he was paralyzed. (I thought he was paralyzed too from the waste down) Funny, Because I just got an idea for a story now. So, Yeah. You have a website?? Never knew. Ill check it out sometime. =p
