If you believe in evolution, then it figures that the egg came first, because natural selection would cause some other species to slowly mutate until something else laid an egg that became the chicken we know today.

If from the way beginning were stuff became to evolve, I think a chicken-egg came out the butt of some prehistoric creature, which wasn't a chicken. And so the chicken made another chicken and so fort, which comes today where we buy Kentucky fried chicken.
