I have a very interesting proposal here.

I noticed that one of the rules is not to have inappropriate conversations here, no? Shouldn't that apply to usernames?

My proposition is this:

Someone should install a system/program/thingy into the Username box for when people first decide to join.

That way if they try to register with an inappropriate name, it tells them that the name is inappropriate and that they cannot register under that name.


After all, we do have 7 year olds here, and a bad username is as bad any swear word.

That's a good idea and SL was working in it so you couldn't make any accounts with a specific word in it.

This is a good idea, but it has been suggested before. I have previously PMd Robdeprop about this, so he is aware such a feature would be of use.
Hopefully it will be implemented soon.
