(Before reading, please keep in mind that I haven't had internet access for a few days, so I'm not sure how bad of a problem this still is...But I doubt much has changed in the past 3 days )

It has come to my attention that SL has been constantly being nagged at from users who want their usernames changed...This must be extremely annoying for SL, so I thought I'd propose a suggestion to take this burden off of him...

I know many users would enjoy manual username change option...However, if this was a totally free and easy thing, user's would be constantly changing their names over and over, turning Plaza into a catastrophic mess of chaotic confusion!
Therefore, in order to change your username, you must purchase each character/letter for a certain amount of 3DSPoints.

Lets say each character is 25 Points...That would be about 200 points for an 8 character name. Not bad, right?

Of course, it can be higher or lower than that price...Whatever seems fit.

Also, removing a letter would cost (25p), unless it is replaced with another.

So yeah...Kinda elaborate...But I assume anything is possible!

Users can make inappropriate usernames from the start when they make an account...If they make an inappropriate name, they'll get banned o:

Hopefully there will be less confusion if people have to keep paying 3DSPoints to change their name...The price can be higher if it does become a problem. They'll just keep nagging SL for a name change nonetheless.

Logic goes like This Username1: I...Love...You *All messages gets pushed* then Username1 would be Embarrassed. Then Username1 >> Password1 Password1: Hello.

And users will lose Track of their names.

Are you saying if a user embarrasses themself, they'll change their name to act like a different person? o.O

Anyone can change their name for any reason, it would be extremely improbable for the majority of users to be able to change their username so constantly due to lack of 3DSPoints (hence the reason why you have to BUY each letter)...

Besides, what difference does it make whether they do it themselves, or make SL do it?

Just make it so that they can do it once every 6 months or so. For example, if someone were to make an account called example123, they would have the option to go into their profile and click a button that said "Change Name." Then they would type in their new name, "example1234", and a message would pop up saying "Are you sure you want to change your name to example1234? This can only be done once every six months." They click okay, and their name is changed. If they went back a month later and tried to change it again, it would say "Recharging. Charge time: 5 months"

Exactly, SL has a lot of things to do, and has no time to fulfill everyone's nagging needs to have their name changed by him.

You may not want to "waste" points on changing your name but I know many people who would (not including me)... Also, you can't really waste points since there's not much to spend them on.

Points or no points, I think the original premise of my suggestion is valid. I rather like DeathKid's idea as well.

However, it is completely up to SL whether he thinks it should be implemented or not. It is only a suggestion, and there's no reason for non-constructive criticism o3o

P.S... If a thread is not breaking any rules, it really shouldn't be closed by anyone other than the author of the thread.
