A little fun fact, there was an online multiplayer mod in the works for Super Metroid a few years back, but it's a dead project nowadays. Whether it was due to laziness or other difficulties in development is beyond me, but it would have been amazing if finished.

I myself am creating a Super Metroid ROMhack right now, I guess it's close enough to count as my own game, right? Right? It's definitely tricky to come up with ideas, let alone integrate them into the game. I have it set to where Samus' beam actually starts out powerless and can only open doors and break blocks at start; it has to be upgraded like in any other Metroid game. I'm trying to come up with other gimmicks too, and it goes to show how difficult it can be to get ideas for actual games.
