I even gained a respect which didn't make my rep rise any higher then it was before.

Rep isn't really important though...Honestly it's actually quite pointless...If someone gets high rep, so what? That doesn't mean they're automatically a person I want to be friends with.
If someone gets really low rep, they'll just make a new account and delete their old one o.O
