Nintendo shutting down Wii Online Services
Dragnet (2013-04-15 01:58:18)It's a longstanding business tradition. Sometime after a new product's release, stop supporting the old one. Nintendo's just doing this early to try and boost WiiU sales.

Nin10dude789 (2013-04-18 08:18:19)It's just the channels. Online game services and the Wii Shop Channel will still be open, even thou more games are being in development for the Wii U and not for Wii. Wii will be officially discontinued in 1 or 2 years.

Online multiplayer will still be intact. It's just certain channels, not that big of a deal. People with Wii's will get bored anyways, as game production for it will decrease.
