Deaf

Is being deaf a curse?
I do not believe so.
You may think its true.
A few things you should know,
I will now tell to you.

The deaf have a blessing.
We hear some things in life,
things we wish to forget,
Things that can bring us great strife.
Things that can make us fret...

These things the deaf cannot hear.
We hear insults all the time,
Some are abrupt and curt.
Words said at the drop of a dime.
Words that are meant to hurt...

The deaf cannot hear them used in excess.
This is the blessing that the deaf possess.
