The chats you say? Want to know something interesting? Forum mods are actually more active than the chatroom mods. A majority of the chat mods no longer show up anymore, and those that do are only around for a half-hour at a time. I'd say, at least 80% of anything said in the chats are never seen by the mods, because they all show up near the same time, stay in the same chatrooms, and leave at the same time.
How can we solve this dilemma? By adding more moderators?
The answer to that is, a big simple no. Adding more moderators, especially inexperienced or uptight ones, would do more damage than a few kids cussing. Those who have no experience with being in a position of power will use it irresponsibly, while uptight moderators would provide swift Permabans for minor infractions.
The best part? People cyber, curse, and whatnot via PMs. They dodge the mods all the time. But the mods won't check your PMs, because that's an invasion of privacy.
Too Long; Did not Read! version: Mods have a life outside this site, the chatrooms are under-staffed, adding more mods is suicide, and people dodge the mods via PM anyway.
