Ron1212 (2013-01-18 01:17:41)In the 1700's, when George Washington was president, he feared and warned America about debt after they were in debt for about 2 billion dollars.
And WHOOP DE DOO, AMERICA NOW OWNS 15 TRILLION DOLLARS! Thanks US government!
Should've listened to Washington.

HanShotFirst (2013-01-18 01:52:47)America's goverment lost all legitimacy as soon as the founding fathers died off.
Kylie, the gun control laws are still within the 2nd amendment. Citizens are still allowed the ability to own a gun, however, the laws passed will limit the number of people deemed "fit" even further.
Of course, there's always a way around the system, so gun violence won't go down for some time, thus defeating the purpose of the Gun laws.
Back to the main topic, America's politicians care less about what they'll do in office and more on getting the votes to get there. Every single ad for politics shows no details as to what the game plan is, just that the competition is "immoral" or the current runner is "the right choice".
Bah, suffering from LTS right now, so can't type more....

HanShotFirst (2013-01-18 20:11:35)Tetris, criticism of the government is a liberty granted to the governed. We can be critical of new policies and bills, due to everyone being allowed to chip in their two cents. By denying the right to state our negative opinions, we're denied a voice in government.
While yes, not every complaint follows a logical train of thought, that is irrelevant. If you believe laws like SOPA and ACTA suck, you make your opinion known. But like everyone that honestly doesn't give a damn about anything, you criticise the justified criticism.
America is nearly 200 trillion dollars in debt, has had a spike in gun violence, has a high unemployment rate, almost everyone is living below the poverty line, the war on terrorism is being dragged on, ACTA was nearly passed due to policy laundering, education sucks, and so much more
And our politicians are still not getting anything done. Makes sense why Congress gets such low approval rates.
Don't misunderstand me, I'm not saying we should all complain. I'm saying, that with all these problems and with new ones added weekly, complaints are justified. If you're okay with all this, good for you, but don't try to bring down the ones that actually have something to say.

HanShotFirst (2013-01-19 02:36:52)^Not even. The U.S. has one of the empty wallets in the world. The economy is falling apart at the seams.
