Komalr

3DS Survival is all but cancelled, so I thought I would start a new project that I would take better care of this time. The game is called Hero. It is a short arcade style game, where you play as a super hero completing different objectives. There is a single level that you play on, and the objectives are chosen randomly at the start of the game. The objectives could range from eliminating 3 enemies, to reaching a place without being spotted. The game is a 2d platformer.

The game could cost anywhere from 0-50 points. I haven't decided yet. Post about what you want it to cost. I just finished up an enemy engine today. The random objective system works fine. You can jump, and run around a very limited level.

I actually have devised a name for the main character. I am thinking about naming the game the same thing. The name is Komalr. Pronounced Comelar. The engine is about 60 percent done, and the only thing that might delay the game is graphics. My brother (who does all my graphics) is incredibly busy with school work at the moment, so it's anyone's guess when this game will be released.

I will need a tiny bit of help with this project. One thing I have not been able to figure out is how to make a scrolling level as you walk around.

2-5 months* He still needs to find out that scroll moving thingymajig. And he needs to implement ALL the graphics (i.e walking graphics, crouching graphics etc.)

If any of you don't have a site but still want access, you can try making a sprite for the game. I made a topic about it in the Art forum. If you make one of those sprites for me, and I like it, I will use the sprite, and give you access to the game.

Sounds very interesting! I hope you'll be able to get artwork. If you want you can use the Triniate spriter to create some (animated) sprites or get some members to make them for you.
