The military is not the reason I'm alive right now, it is in fact the reason few memebers of my family aren't. The military doesn't exist to defend, it exists so politicians can fight it out without dirtying their hands or risking injury to themselves while men and women die for cause they may mot fully understand.

Look at what the military means from a viewpoint other than your propaganda because there are more casualties in war than we like to admit, and those that so nobly gave their lives did so in what they believed was an act of patriotism. It's not an act of patriotism to sacrifice yourself, if people die in war so that more kids barely out of high school will join in and they themselves die, it means that the very soldiers are expendable to the ones that lead them.

But of course you wouldn't truly understand what patriotism really means. Patriotism isn't the willingness to put on a uniform and collect bullet holes, Patriotism is the willingness to b****slap the president for making bad decisions ; Patriotism is not "My country, right or wrong" it's "Correct the mistakes of those in power, or let my fellow citizens suffer for my silence" ; When a person is patriotic, they work day and night in an office to ensure peace of mind for the citizens.

Ha, and the reason we have freedom of speech and self expression? Those are protected by the law in here in the U.S. and the only way that would change is if the government we have set up now is changed. That isn't likely to happen, because the real patriots will protest vehemently when our rights are infringed.

The military is stupid because guys like you think killing other people is totally fine and is more beneficial to your country than attempting to negotiate and having the patience to do so, even if a cycle of hatred is created and the war drags on because of that vicious cycle.
